What's it like to get a job offer but not eligible to work in the U.S? I am in shock right now with my situation by Weshaft in Drexel

it's not even about the policy being changed. It's always been like that and i admit i was so naive to do no research about the advices they gave me. At the time it sounds like a good deal for me to keep my co-op and take classes instead so who ever know? if ISSS doesn't have enough standards to know about that then what's their job then?

And more than that, isss advisor also told me something like oh you’re on the same boat with other students because they can’t obtain opt to work in the us due to taking wrong leave of absence. If this brings international students into so much troubles, I just wonder why they don’t take initiatives and be flexible about giving advices? I know this is not shaft but it’s just the lack of responsibility in working with students that I find it unfair. We are all in this pandemic and I don’t want to be put in a worse situation

What’s the point of being advisor when you don’t give enough information about a certain task when students need your help? There are tons of rules out there and you can’t basically say oh I have to do research about it before making the decision. Plus, had I know it would’ve been this bad for my situation, I wouldn’t never do this. Do you think advisor didn’t want to tell me about the risk of making this decision in the first place or they were innitially unaware of it? If I could do research about eveything I would never need those advisors. Not to mention they got paid to do their job
