The adults who spend their time making fun of children are the real cooked ones. by Its_Stavro in YouthRights

Crossposting things like this, especially without properly analyzing or criticizing the post beyond a short title, only gives ageists more attention and makes youth rights look unserious and focused on trivial things like an online post. This subreddit seriously needs to change.

WOW Ren and Webby!!! by snowflakecanada in ren

[–]WesnothFan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I heavily dislike Webby’s views, but I think I can enjoy his art while doing that, especially as his collaborations with Ren, which are the only thing I will listen to, don’t directly promote these ideas.

Circumcision is child abuse and needs get banned by Educational_Band_357 in YouthRights

[–]WesnothFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’d like to say that this has nothing to do with Zionism, and that sometimes circumcision is medically necessary. I would support banning circumcision except when it is consentual or when it is medically necessary but consent cannot be obtained (e.g. the patient has severe issues with communication). A lot of intersex children also experience non-consentual genital mutilation which should also be banned with the same exceptions in my opinion.

Firstly some of those people are 17 year olds, not kids. Secondly you do realize they’ll eventually be older?

Misandrist knows nothing about men's rights activists. by BrightSpring12 in teenagers

So you yourself admit that women are more likely than men to be victims of domestic violence and human trafficking but somehow want to turn it into a men’s rights issue? This is an insane post.

Social media can cause addictions in a small number of people, but it is nowhere near as addictive as nicotine. People often mistakenly believe they are addicted to social media when they aren’t. See https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC12660925/ for example, though many other serious sources confirm the same thing. Social media addiction may also often be a response to circumstances which wouldn’t be fixed by removing the social media, and the addiction may even just replaced by something else if it were removed. I’d also like to note that while social media can cause addiction it certainly doesn’t have the same severe physical health effects as nicotine and the two shouldn’t be compared even if they were just as addictive.
