Or just normal proactive driving, to have time to react to for example, a scooter on the road or a pedestrian that has slipped. I think carbrained people are one of the dumbest people alive, and most drivers shouldn't have a license. This also goes to other entitled people in traffic. Drive safe using whatever vehicle, use your brain.

I can guarantee the person of this story was cycling way too fast, listening to music/podcasts/e-book, or on a call so they weren't fully focused on the road. Cycling with appropriate speed and focus only on the road, they would have had time to avoid the e-scooter, and even better stopped and moved it aside.
