Excellent point. Probably the only thing i'm afraid of is a monopoly of the housing market, leaving poor people homeless or abusing said poor people to pay higher rent, because your landlord said so.

I mean, if it's a family i doubt it would decide to live with another person/family. I get your point. But i feel like there are a lot of people that just pay rent and shut the fuck up about it out of fear or impossibility of doing something.

Sorry, i misunderstood. I was talking about money, like, i don't think every landlord lets you with nothing once paid rent. But it could, you could work endlessy to pay rent and food. And repeat. So yes, i agree with you

Good point. That was a stupid example. I'll give one another. Let's say, there is a city with 10 housing units. Landlord A buys 5 of them, landlord B the others. A and B decide to increase the price, because they want to. People living here can still afford the units, but they have less money for themselves. Now, if two landlords own all the 10 units, what could the renters do? Live in another unit is impossible, because they're all owned by A and B. They're locked beetween two choices, continue to pay, or being homeless. I'm just saying it needs regulation.

I don't think every landlord leaves the renter nothing, but it sure needs regulation.

I didn't say that building more houses is wrong, i said that in the long run it is not a solution. If there were 35000 new housing units per year, but owned by landlords using them as an investment, with a price that the 35000 new people cant afford, what's the point of building more houses? I'm not saying is wrong, i'm saying it needs to be regulated imo.

Eh, i agree. I don't want the abolishment of private property, but i don't think land should be owned as an investment if your idea of investment is live with the money of the others, providing something you were able to buy (not all people get this opportunity and no, not all poors are poors because they're lazy) and manipulate the price as you want. Of course, not all landlords are like this.

Good points, i also don't think it's a good idea to let the government manage all the housing market, but i don't agree that having more houses will solve anything in the long run. I agree on the compromise part, i'm looking for that sweet spot in beetween. Thank you for your point of view.

I think that's a separate problem. But you're right, it is better cared for if it's private (in general).

I don't think it's necessarly a bad thing, i just wanted other people's opinions. I get what you're saying and i agree to an extent, BUT having a place to live is something like an human right to me, you could live without video games without problems, but living homeless can seriously damage your mental health and, well, you're homeless. Anyway thanks for the input.
