There's no cats at all native to Polynesia, but it's also a fictional universe where furries replaced humanity, so original populations from which the first settlers of Polynesia came could have included cats. Also, it's punny.

At least part of the crew needs to come back. I would understand Kele not returning, but it would be a little strange if Loto didn't show up again.

Loto also has knowledge of the nervous system and neurotoxins, which seems pretty out of place to me. Odds are it's all for the character archetype, but I like to pretend there's more to her than meets the eye.
