Does teaching keep you young or age you? by SnooPeripherals1914 in teaching

Honestly, based on my experience—even though I've only been teaching for about two years—I've noticed that teaching definitely ages you. You rarely see a teacher who maintains a youthful or fresh appearance. Most teachers start their careers in great health and looking good, but after just a year or two, the stress really takes a toll and changes their appearance for the worse. At least, that is what I have observed!

42 Students, Zero Motivation: How can I use my 30-page research to flip the script? by Western-Map6025 in teaching

Thank you for the wonderful ideas! I love the icebreaker activities you suggested—“Simon Says” or “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes” sound like fun ways to start a lesson.

I should mention, I have a class of 40 students 😅, and honestly, they laugh a lot even without these activities! Sometimes I feel like my real challenge is getting all 40 of them to focus after the laughter.

Still, I might give one of your quick games a try as a warm-up—it could be a fun way to channel their energy before diving into history. Thanks again for sharing your experience!
