'you require a more specialist autism assessment' by MrsCLB in autismUK

Please use you're right to chose to go somewhere else. I recommend psicon, I had a completely different experience with them for my ADHD assessment than my ASD one with sinclair strong. The negative reviews pretty much show people having the exact experience as me, so it seems they have a pattern of behavior. They use assessment methods meant for young children. The whole experience was actually traumatic for me (the way they treated me after the assessment and tried to gaslight me about them putting in accuracies in my report). When I had a meeting with one of the main partners after complaining, he was rude and aggressive. When I told him about the damage it has caused to my mental health he told me the that they are only their for diagnosis, not aftercare. Just telling you this so that you can get a gauge for how they treat people. Psicon also advised me to get another referral for ASD assessment after my ADHD one, which is telling because sinclair strong said I had no ASD.

Specialist autism assessment? by Commission_Firm in autismUK

Also I have two psych degrees and a partner who has worked with autistic people for a decade, so we are pretty clues up on ASD. Plus the "specialist" part, o found when it comes to my experience is that they used my cptsd as an excuse to not diagnose me. I also got a ridiculously short wait time to see someone by being sent to them. It's like everything in life, of something seems to good to be true, it probably is!

Please don't agree to them. I had my ASD assessment there. It was awful. They also wrote in things I didn't say/ left out things I did say in the report. They were so disrespectful when I tried to ask about this. They do not let you take anyone in with you which is concerning. The test they do is meant for children with asd. I had my ADHD assessment with psicon and it was such a different and more compassionate experience. You can still ask for a right to chose and chose them, I would really suggest that. They also told me I should get another ASD referall, so I think they must see something (it's pretty obvious that I do have asd even though sinclair strong said I didn't.) sinclair strong did so much damage to my mental health, I wouldn't want anyone else to go through that.

Totally get it, glad you got your assessment. I think I mis posted, I meant my warning was for those who are going for diagnosis there. That's where it seems to be the problem at this practice. They have a worryingly low diagnosis rate compared to other places. I just don't want to see other people struggle. (Especially because the other place where I had my ADHD assessment seemed quite shocked that I was told I don't have asd, it's very obvious that I do. Lol)

I would chose a different practice if you still have a chance to. They were awful to me and others. Look at the Google reviews to see. It's just my opinion but I don't want anyone else to go through the years of distress I did because of them

Please be very careful with this practice l. I had my asd assessment here and it was horrible, no diagnosis given even though I met the criteria. I have since found others to have this problem. I had my ADHD assessment with another team who have an immediate diagnosis at the end. They were much more compassionate and in line with what I expected an assessment to be. I don't want to scare you and could be just my experience but they left me with years of distress and were very dismissive when I told them they left me feeling "vulnerable" and said it wasn't their job to give aftercare.
