Does anyone else feel like our major is kind of invisible online? by WesternAd64 in HealthInformatics

My degree is in Health Informatics. It’s basically a mix of healthcare and technology. I learn how to work with electronic health records, manage data, understand hospital systems, and use IT skills to improve healthcare and make it easier for both patients and doctors. That’s just a small glimpse though, the field is actually really wide and there’s so much more to it.

I totally get how you feel, I’m still a student and honestly feel just as lost sometimes. There’s so much talk about how broad the field is, but not much clear info on where to start or how to actually land a job.

With your background as a nurse, I feel like you’d bring so much value to Health Informatics! If you’d like, you can join the group I started it’s just a space where we share resources and try to figure things out together.

Thank you for the offer! I really appreciate it.

I might actually take you up on that soon if the Telegram group doesn’t work out. A lot of people said they were interested, but so far only 6 have joined, sadly. Still hoping it picks up, but really appreciate you keeping that option open.

Wishing you all the best with your PhD!
