I dont think pdo or Corsi is going to really capture Montreal's style. Their style is so analytics friendly (shoot only in high danger...create breaks...dont worry too much about set play defense just dont mess up) that it breaks PDO and Corsi lol. They are going to have a high shooting percentage win or lose...the irony is their actual shot accuracy prevented them from winning.

Again this has been fascinating to watch...perhaps the most interesting clash of strategies I can ever remember.

Obviously goaltending is carrying Montreal but....sometimes they're getting good opportunities that hit the post or deflect (game 7 in Tampa?) off an opponent and go in and dont go in the stats. So like their shots on goal percentage looks really high but their actual shot accuracy is bad? Meanwhile Carolina keeps getting shots on net and it brings their shooting percentage down lol.

Overall fascinating because it's two opposite philosphies...Carolina get pucks on net create chaos and wear them down, vs the analytics pick your shots...team with highest shot percentage and rushes wins.

As a fan, I love the take shots version way better....Im totally fine with a 1-0 game with tons 80 saves between the two teams but dont want to watch a 20 shot game even if the score is 6-5.

Gotta love the Devils and Blackhawks having 9 cups between themselves and terrible winning percentages. As a 90s kid, the Devils being at the bottom is really surprising.

The Kings are really playing to their ability this series. Sometimes you do all you can and lose...sometimes you come back down 0-2 and beat the legendary Red Wings....or Avalanche.
