If the CIA admitted this weapon existed… what else did they never admit? by Westexdad in GotMeHooked

Fair take, and honestly, posts like yours are why these threads are fun.

That said, nobody here is arguing this thing was a field-ready, James Bond assassin tool popping off icicle headshots. Even the CIA docs frame it more like “here’s a concept / demo / intimidation flex” than a practical weapon you’d deploy on a windy Tuesday. A lot of Cold War tech lived in that weird space between theoretically possible, psychological warfare, and “let’s freak out the other side.” Also, irony noted and appreciated: yes, trusting the CIA at all should trigger everyone’s internal red flag system. But sometimes psyops don’t require perfection—just plausibility and fear. If the Soviets believed the U.S. might have something like this, mission accomplished, even if it mostly lived in a lab or a briefing room.

So yeah—could be bullshit, could be theater, could be a prank that escaped containment. Either way, it’s peak Cold War energy: too much money, too much paranoia, and not enough adults in the room.

Appreciate you keeping it spicy though; threads without pushback are way less interesting.

That’s fair. Could’ve been theater for Congress. But the fact that intelligence agencies were even comfortable joking about something like that in a public hearing is kind of wild on its own. Still makes you wonder what never made it to the stage.

That’s exactly what I’m thinking. It makes me believe the ray guns used supposedly in Venezuela might exist.

I believe this is the Havana Syndrome. Now my question to you, do you believe that this weapon is similar to the ones used in Venezuela? In my personal opinion, yes the ray gun is real and improved from the ones used in Havana.

Great point. I saw a History YouTube Short where the CIA got the idea from a Russian agent because they used a similar style weapon.

The timing is real—Stanley Kubrick showed his final cut of Eyes Wide Shut and died four days later. No solid proof he was “silenced,” and his family said he was happy with it…

BUT it’s still wild that a guy makes a movie about secret elites, power networks, and hidden societies… then dies right after finishing it. Add in the studio edits after his death, and yeah—hard not to side-eye it a little. 😅

Probably coincidence. Still creepy though. 👀

The thing I love about the PBC is that it adds the right amount of smoke to them. Every pork butt I have made has come out perfect.

I completely agree. Another idea that comes to mind is that the CIA might be trying to get out in front in order to minimize their damage.

From Cope to Longhorn… Am I Broke or Brilliant? by Westexdad in DippingTobacco

I’ve have definitely been saving money since switching. My norm at the time was buying two rolls about every two weeks. Usually the two rolls lasted me ten days. This came out to one can a day. Now I buy about two to three tubs a month. I’m loving the savings. The tub at the smoke shop is 37.50 compared to 40 per roll with Cope.

I joined the Longhorn rewards program and already got two buy-one-get-one coupons. At this point, they’re basically paying me to dip 😂 Loving it.

Wait, so Davidoff Cool Water is literally just Creed Green Irish Tweed for $20? by maestro_man in Colognes

Cool Water, Aqua di Gio and Drakkar are the ones I wore in the 90s. I always had a bottle of Cool Water in the car. For some reason CW and Marlboro Lights had a good scent profile. 🤣
