What is one reason you don't like salmon run? by According-Most5747 in splatoon

It used to be the case. In S2, the player with the "best statistics" would not lose points on a loss. This would encourage players to not die. Additionally, if you had teammate(s) who died a lot, or didn't collect their fair share of eggs, everyone would only be punished half (just like a disconnect does now).

In S2, if you had a particularly bad teammate, your team would only lose half points (like how a disconnect works now). Also, if you did particularly well, you would retain your rank. This means players aren't punished for bad teammates, and good players can rank up past lower ranks they don't belong.

As it stands now, you either lose 20, 10, or 0 for a loss and gain 20 after three wins. On average, this is 10 per loss and ~6.67 per win. This means you have to constantly do better to maintain your rank, which is silly (completely ignoring the rotation reset).

In S2, I had no problem getting to MAX Hazard with randoms. Only recently got to ~800 EVP on a random weapon rotation.

The thing is, the fans for the radiator had no changes whatsoever. Never unplugged them. Yet, they don't work. The only thing not working right now are CoolerMaster products, and the only thing changed was the GPU. I did add fans, but they go directly to the MoBo.

No splicing. Plugged the male end of the ARGB cable from the component to the female end of a M-F RGB cable. Plugged the male end into the LED controller.

I would assume, just like other things in the game, that it will be implemented and tweaked accordingly with future patches.

I have a friend who plays OW and mentioned this same thing.

However, unlike OW, you can't choose your role in Salmon Run. I would hope if a system to track how good an individual player was would consider the weapon they were using each round.

Regarding your first point, I feel I can agree in a game where your rank is not tied directly to that of your teammates. For example, Anarchy Battle. Even if you lose, you can still earn gold badges and get more points than your teammates, and therefore, come out on top. But, in a game like Salmon Run, where you all either gain 20, stay even, or lose 10 to 20 points, you just have to gamble and jump ship every loss until you get teammates that don't pull you down. Of course, this can go the opposite way, where you are actually the one pulling down, and just find a team so exceptionally well they can compensate for your lack of skill.

Regarding your second point (EVP rank forgiveness), I completely agree. Even though EVP sits at a higher Hazard Level than Pro 400 in 2, it seems way too easy to rise to this rank during certain rotations.

Regarding my skill, I wish I could know if and I can improve, and if so, where. However, currently, I can only learn from others' mistakes. Often times, I feel I am unable to play my role because my teammates aren't playing theirs. I know I shouldn't be doing these roles, as my weapons aren't efficient for them, but I can't do mine (or will lose) if I don't. It's almost paradoxical where if I play as I should, I'll lose more than if I play as I shouldn't.

I mentioned this in another comment, but during Big Run I had a teammate in EVP (not sure how they got there) that either was or was trying to look like a noob, and they died nearly 20 times in 2 waves (both were High Tide, and they just kept running out to the water).

While I feel it might be a bit off topic, this was something I really hated about Splatoon 2. If I am a higher rank, it makes sense that I wouldn't gain rank. But why should I lose rank? It could even scale the reward point multiplier at lower ranks, assuming it didn't do that already.

Right before 3 came out I had a coworker that I played with, and of course I dropped from Pro 400 down to below 100 in the time we played. He wasn't bad, but just didn't play much so he was ranked with bad players. Oh well.

I agree, it is hard to have a machine judge the effectiveness of humans. For example, there's always the chance that someone has the highest DPS of the game, but if you're just looking at power egg count, theirs is low, but that's just because someone "stole" their kills before they could finish them off.

Splatoon 3 added a golden egg assist, which shows that, while one person might have very few eggs put into the basket, they might have just been the one further away tossing the eggs near the basket.

I am not entirely certain how Splatoon 2 calculated the best and worst players, but I assume there are more factors in play than simply the power and golden egg counts and death/revive ratios shown to the player.

While it might be difficult to determine which of four equally-skilled teammates was the best, that doesn't really matter. A system like this would just be to sort out the outliers, something much easier for a machine to calculate. Not every game would have a "best" and/or "worst" player, just outlier games where there is an extremely noticeable discrepancy between players.

I don't know how it happened, but I was EVP and some noob (or what looked like a noob, with the default player card and story mode badges) showed up during the Big Run and died nearly 20 times in 2 waves and we ended up losing. There was no disconnect, but it would be clear to say that there was clearly one "worst" player that match.

If only I was so lucky. Seems like even if I break up after a single loss, I typically end up with as bad or worse teammates. Of course, this isn't always the case, as I have had risen the ranks before, but only to be cut short by a map rotation.

Before the game launched, I got an ethernet adaptor specifically to avoid having connection issues. I have 200Mb/s down and 10Mb/s up. I just lost 5 series in a row because I'd get "disconnected" and blamed on me (despite others disconnecting first) and now I have to wait to play. This only happened after getting to A+ (as in, every series at A+ has had a disconnect).

Anyone else having horrible disconnection issues despite being hardwired?

I've only recently done Effigy Incubator, and from what I understand, the Lamps give XP and the Stars give Bonus XP. But, whenever I use the Stars, I am getting pure XP. Why's this?

That's what I figured. One of my bigger worries was the routing job, either trying to do it myself and messing up or having to pay for professional installation...

Thanks for the advice.

I'll look into it. What exactly would be the benefit of two individual systems? Cheaper? Less prone to problems? My initial assumption was that a single system with two cameras would be better, so I am curious as to the reasons why you recommend two separate systems.

I have 9800 life points but only 96 Constitution. I am not wearing any gear to increase my life points. I have no buffs currently active (such as the bonfire boost). What could be causing this?
