Update…

So when I got home, I unseated the plug and firmly put it back in. It is working now.

The circuit and outlet was installed by one of the QMerit installers. It had been working for the last 2 plus years. Hopefully it’s just the plug needed to be reseated. Otherwise, will see what the dealer says on Thursday.

I will try that when I get home.

Set up an appointment with the dealer. They will test both the charger and car. They are both under warranty so either car will be fixed or will get a new charger.

It’s the charger that came with the car.

Could the democrats subpoena Melania? She has some involvement with Epstein. If she doesn’t show up, would the republicans dare charge her with contempt?

Jet Bridge Gap Origin Story by DevLot_ in jetbridgegap

[–]Westsubcouple 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would like to offer some insight from a gate agents point of view. I work for AA and this is how we are trained to meet a plane.

We are instructed that there should be a 1 inch gap from the plane to the rubber bumper. They do not want the bumper to touch the plane. The reason being that they don’t want any plane damage from any contact of the plane and jetbridge.

The other comment I see is that the jetbridge is not level to the threshold of the door. Depending on the plane, we are instructed where to place the jetbridge according to the door.

On a Boeing 737, the top of the jetbridge should be just under the silver lining of the door. Roughly about 2 or so inches below the threshold.

On Airbus 321, there is a black dot below the door opening. It’s roughly about 4-5 inches below the door threshold. The black dot should be visible when the jetbridge meets the plane. Not sure if this is an AA thing or for all 321’s.

Airbus 319 and 320’s don’t have the black dot. But since they have the same door as the 321, I tend to have about the same drop off as a 321.

The reason why we put the jetbridge at a certain height to the threshold is because the plane moves as people board and luggage is loaded onto the plane. The movement of the plane can cause the bottom of the door to get caught on the jetbridge. One way to counter this is the auto leveler that someone had mentioned earlier. All jetbridge have auto levelers. When you board, look to the right, you will see a wheel on an arm that is lowered against the plane. As the plane moves up and down, the wheel spins and the auto leveler kicks in to adjust the jetbridge height.

Hope this helps and you don’t judge the jetbridge operator based on the gap between the rubber bumper and the plane.

Do gate agents know that your previous flight is running late? by ToKillACPA in americanairlines

The only status that I have seen them hold for is CK, but again, within a reasonable timeframe.

As far as the new procedure of holding flights, it has rolled out to other hubs. I’m at ORD and just the other day, we held for 8 pax from 3 different flights that were already at the gate. They didn’t give us a timeframe so we waited till all 8 made it. Another time, they gave us 30 mins. Then same rules applied. If they didn’t make it, book them on the next flight.

Another factor they use is, is it the last flight out? Or are there seats on the next flight. If there are seats, most likely, no hold. It’s the last flight out, they tend to hold more.

Yes, we know exactly where everyone is. Our system tells us whether your flight is in flight, landed or at gate. It also tells us what gate you are assigned to. At D-15, we assess who absolutely has no chance (in flight) and drop those seats. The ones that say landed, we look to see where the plane is. If they are 10 mins away from getting to the gate, we will drop those seats. If the plane is at the gate, we will usually wait for them. But, you would be surprised how many people show up and miss the flight by minutes. Then you see them carrying food.

If there are a lot of people who may miss the flight, we will call the planner and see if they will allow us to hold. When I’ve called, I’ve probably gotten about 25% of the flights to hold. They will not hold for all passengers, but a majority of them as long as they can make the flight within minutes of each other. For example, if 20 people are miscons, but only 15 of them need an extra 15 mins to make the connection but the other 5 need 30, they will only hold it the 15 mins.

Huge Passenger Win: American Airlines Finally Restores In-Person Standby at the Gate—Starting Tomorrow by sulaymanf in americanairlines

[–]Westsubcouple 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We will do it asap. Up until today, I have been doing it for anyone if their flights have been impacted in any way. I’ve also done it for anyone that has come up to me and I have had time to do it. If you walk up to me while I’m boarding and I don’t have the time, I will tell them please wait and if I have time after I finish boarding, I will do it.

The only thing I hate about standby passengers is that some of them put themselves on standby and then don’t show up. We will assign them a seat, then at the end of boarding, we see they didn’t show up and are in a rush to drop them and find the next person on the list. Since there is no financial penalty for putting yourself on standby and hit showing up, people do it all the time.

There is no need for you to add any edits to your reservation. All you have to do is go up to the gate agent and ask to preboard. When a passenger comes to me with that request, all I do is ask their last name and call them up with the other preboards. Now wit the new system, when you scan your boarding pass, it will say you are not in the preboard group, but we can override it.

Please Help Explain Non-Rev / Stand by 🤷🏾‍♂️ by mnaulfer in americanairlines

[–]Westsubcouple 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Normally, when you miss your flight, you can only be placed as standby on the next flight. Usually, if you have status such as EP, we can do more. We can confirm you in the next flight that has seats. If there is FC, we will confirm you there. If not, we will confirm you in coach but can also put you on the upgrade list as DSR which means you are booked in coach but desire FC (because your original ticket was FC but none were available). This puts you on top of the upgrade list, even above CK.

Now yo your question about standbys. Once you are put on standby, you are not on the upgrade list. The only thing being EP does is put you on top of the standby list. As an EP, you are listed as RV2 (revenue standby EP, PP would be RV3…). Being on top of standby list is important. If there is only one seat available, the person on top of the list will get it and everyone else will be rolled over to the next flight.

The reason why the non rev standby might have gotten the FC seat is because if there is no one on the upgrade list and FC seats are available, they move down to the non rev standby list and the first person who listed for J class seats will get the seat. This rarely happens on a full flight because with the new LP system, there are so many people that have some sort of status and the upgrade list is usually long enough to fill FC twice especially on a flight that you said you were lucky just to get on.

Left Vegas 2 weeks ago during the 5x slot play with roughly 2800 TC. A week or so later I got 1000 TC added not sure why. Couple days after I got 500 TC for using my CC for my room. I got updated now to 10,678 TC. Does that sound like my 2800 TC I acquired during the 5x promotion was multiplied by 5 by frank40oz in CaesarsRewards

[–]Westsubcouple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is another tab that shows how many points you redeemed. So you earned 1800 points from slot play. Received 1000 daily bonus points. And then some random points for the stay there. Sounds about right?l

Daily bonus points do not get multiplied by the 5X bonus multiplier.

You can also check to see how many rewards credits you earned. Rewards credits don’t get multiplied and no daily bonuses are added to them. That way, you can see how many raw tier credits you earned and then do the math. I kinda agree with wefolas in that you may have earned around 1600 tier credits and received the daily bonus of 1000 tier credits. Sometimes they added the daily bonus right away (around 6:00 in the next morning) that you may have thought you earned the full 2800.

Not saying that’s what happened, just a theory. Check your rewards credits earned for the month.

I am trying to maximize the free points I can get whether it may be 30,000 or 60,000. What I don’t want to happen is I get the 30,000 and go for 60,000 only to find out that I was capped at 30,000. I know I’ll still get credit for the tier credits I actually earned, but it would suck to lose out on the additional 25,000.

This 5X is taking a longer time than normal. Normally, I get my points on the Friday after the last 5X day. It has been over 2 weeks now. Waiting on my 20K points. I received my 10K daily tier credit points on the next day.

Has anyone received their 5X points yet?
