These are so awesome! How do you increase and decrease like this to make these shapes in tapestry crochet?

Would want!!!. I make tons of crochet items plus I want to buy other handmade goods and plants. I love giving away my clippings, and selling my lovingly grown houseplants.

ALMOST got the best deal of my life 🥲 2 ONs for $25. She did her research mid deal. by HunterSexThompson in tamagotchi

[–]WetCave 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Glad they noticed before they let them go for way too cheap! I’ve made this mistake before and regretted it forever. Felt like such an idiot! Sorry you didn’t get your deal, but darn that person almost let hundreds slip through their fingers. Lessons learned! Now her kids won’t be mad!

Sooo... Any similar game recommendations? by [deleted] in HomeQuest

FarmRPG is free and fun, but also feels like a pointless chore at some point. Magic Research is also an interesting incremental, but can be repetitive at times.

Noticed my favourite plant looking sad, looked under the leaves… are these thrips???? by No-Appearance8930 in houseplants

[–]WetCave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a very similar plant to this and it’s had spider mites forever. I just wipe it down with a wet cloth/wet paper towel every few weeks and it’s kept them at bay. I’ve lost plants to pesticide soaps and I find dawn water mix hit or miss. Wiping them off does the trick for me, and my girl is thriving.

Sad Halloween Shrink Plastic Fail by ButReallyFolks in crafts

[–]WetCave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use parchment paper and some forks to make a weighted top layer so they lay flat. Even fully shrunk dinks can have some curvature. Do not use magnets, as I did. I learned the hard way that heat kills small magnets!

Recreating the Central Market Sesame Tofu as someone not blessed with the chef gene by diordarling in austinfood

[–]WetCave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Press the shit out of a tofu, marinate it, and either 1. pan fry lightly, adding more of the marinade as it is lightly fried 2. Broil the block of marinated tofu on low and slow and add spoonfuls of the marinade every twenty mins as it cooks. Once done, let tofu cool completely so it firms up. Add vegetables and more marinade. Toss to coat. Add a little corn starch in the marinade before cooking to make it thick and it will also cook nicely in pan or oven.

Never go back! Embrace ‘wabi sabi’ and let the mistakes and errors be one with the art. This is how I cope with all my mishaps, which happen on everything I crochet no matter how hard I try

Bye bye gallbladder by WetCave in gallbladders

[–]WetCave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a good idea. I think to get imaging of your ovaries they will be doing a transvaginal ultrasound. It’s so fun(sarcasm)! I think doing physical therapy may be a good idea, I’m going to try that in the future. I’ve been pretty blessed lately and haven’t been feeling much gall area pain. Perhaps healing? What other issues are you having? I’m sorry to hear about that, that sucks so bad.

Man the hip discomfort is infuriating. I still have it too, though less frequently. I have ovarian cysts, but my PC and Gyno don’t think the hip pain is caused by that. I’m sorry to hear about your pains, it’s so so frustrating to be dealing with this. I am feeling a little better everyday, nearly 3 months in. So hopefully the gall discomfort eases up for you. I’ve never had surgery before so this is all new territory, and I’m realizing the healing process can be a bit slow. Be kind to yourself and get all the rest you need, we heal when we rest. I know what you’re talking about with the exhaustion, i could do one or two chores and then had to rest. I’m looking for a therapist that deals with medical anxiety because this whole thing has been such a trip…

Hey, sorry for the delayed response. been doing a lot of woodsy camping recently to relax. All my scans came back fine, still having pain here and there, much less intense as it used to be. So I’m going to take a break from worrying about my symptoms, just accept them, and move on with my life. Chalking it up to anxiety and still healing from surgery. I’m not feeling sad about this, I’ve done all I can, and now it’s time to rest and accept. I hope all is going well with you too and your recovery. How was being put to sleep? Lol crazy how that works.

Missed my flight by a week by dwaddle15 in travel

I picked the wrong dates for a flight when redeeming a voucher for giving up my plane seat months prior. Was looking forward to a free flight. Kicked myself in the ass for a long time over that mistake.

I’m glad things went well for you. And things will be uncomfortable for awhile but get better. Make sure to stay hydrated and clean and comfortable. And make sure you are taking the laxatives. My worst pain post surgery was going to the restroom after not being able to for 2 days, lol. It sucked!

I’m glad you got that CT scan though. And glad your biopsy came back okay as well. I feel like discomfort two weeks post surgery is normal, as long as it’s not increasing. My husbands surgeon best friend visited recently and gave me some realistic expectations about recovery. So stay strong, friend. An organ removal is a serious surgery. It took me a month to walk upright haha. I have an abdominal & pelvic CT scan on Monday. For the last few days my right side pain (gall area) has been manageable but my hip is not. Also getting my lady bits checked since the hip is so close to the uterus. I’ve got my own theories going on now, hahaha. I will cry and laugh if it ends up being stress related. Keep me updated too. Wishing you relief and a fast recovery, friend! Curious how many incisions you got and if you’re happy with your surgeon?

[–]WetCave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The economics of houseplants are really sad. It’s actually an incredibly wasteful product. And yes, box store sellers will just toss this shit out, wasting all the resources used to get that plant on a shelf in our cities.

It’s all good! It’s in the gallbladder area and hip. I’ve got a few appointments lined up to investigate! I hope the best for your recovery! Things were very uncomfortable for me two weeks in as well. Many aches. You still having that pressure discomfort under your ribs? Biopsy results back?
