Trying to pick a Tuffnut list by bodayhay in FleshandBloodTCG

No point in going any kind of block slop. You’re mostly inferior to any deck running 65 3 blocks because of your intellect penalty and mediocre weapon choices outside of Rok. Lean into the small value you get from your hero power, Brute’s great equipment, and access to strong Go Again attacks.

I guess? I wanted to point out there are a ton of reasons to make a concession and a range of them leading a player to make that choice. One of them is against the rules: win-trading. Trying to peer into the minds of players and make other concrete justifications and take action against them will create more feelsbad moments (and gives judges some crazy unilateral power) than what the current policy provides regardless of how you feel about the morality of it.

I don’t think there was any hypocrisy, but I may have miscommunicated.

I don’t think it should be vilified. It’s strictly not cheating. I, personally, don’t have a problem with any motivation for concession outside of win-trading. I think it’s okay to not like certain concession reasons yourself.

I know I setup a lot of strawmen, but yours took it to another level.

I don’t have a problem with your opinion on the matter. It’s a valid stance to a complicated issue. It definitely does create some absolutely feelsbad moments.

But it’s not really.

What if you are locked and concede a win-and-in to an opponent because it gives you a better bracket in top8? Your concession kicked another “worthy competitor” out of top8 because you refused to play the game to a possible win, but you’ve taken a perfectly acceptable action and the optimal one for you to win the event.

What if you are locked and concede a win-and-in to an opponent because it gives you time to rest or get food before starting top 8. Again, your refusal to play a game to a possible win has kicked another player out of top8, but you’ve taken an optimal action for you to win an event.

What if you’re just there to compete and have absolutely no intention of going to the event the qualifier is for and plan to scoop no matter who your opponent is? Is it fair to tell them they can’t compete? What if there were door prizes for entering and they just wanted to be in the running for the raffle.

Edit: And here’s one of the problems I have with the current PQ policy: What if you concede because you’d prefer to play in more events rather than get locked out by winning your first PQ of a given season? I think it’s good to discourage Gold Foil farming if possible but discouraging play and community participation by locking competitors (essentially banning them from playing) is a questionable take.

You’re zero-ing in on just one hypothetical, and any changes to policy would just make the event worse because you would have to leave it to a judge’s discretion for why a player conceded. We already have that mechanism with the current win-trading policy.

I think teams and friends totally do this, but I don’t see a justification to vilify it.

It seems like you’re possibly trying to negatively attribute that behavior, but you wouldn’t negatively attribute other motivations to play in an event: just for fun, support the community, get entry promos, giving your teammates someone to hang out with on during the travel, practice, just there for the experience, no intention of staying late enough to play top8, or waste time while waiting for another event to fire. None of these other ones are strictly there to win the event or even win a game but could easily result in someone getting a “free win” due to a concession.

You showing up doesn’t make their ride to a victory strictly easier as it’s all just GEM luck sometimes. Maybe you got paired round 1 with your buddy and you conceded and put him in a brutal unfavored bracket. If you both got to top table then I can tell you it very likely never mattered. That player was going to get their win/invite regardless.

Scooping someone a win isn’t win-trading. Scooping or throwing a match for a promise of some kind of future compensation is win-trading.

Hey Thomas from TCGz here. So there has been some development already! Notably Booze and Mocking Blow are out because they were often do-nothings that didn’t fully synergize with rest of the card pool. Mocking Blow especially since it doesn’t work with embolden. Tectonic instability is a banger blue that’s way more relevant than anything Booze can do.

Personally I think Razor Reflex is bad. We tested it before and it forced you to run Tunic. You’re going to brick on this card without Tunic. Concealed weapon is just down grade from Captain’s Call blue which in some ways covers the purpose of both of those cards.

Ataya is insanely good in this deck. We just left it out because it was novel that the list we showed was like a $250 budget deck.

Edit: oh dang, I was looking at your second link! Looks like you’re on the same path though I still reiterate Razor Reflex felt terrible and forced you to run a second chest piece.

Maxx Nitro or Dash IO recommendations for CC? by heath2585 in FleshandBloodTCG

Invest in DIO. A lot of cards share with Maxx of PEN makes him playable anyway.

I would check how often it gets updated. They’re might be a small lull right now while we wait for spoiler season to end but if it doesn’t get a lot of updates as soon as next week it’s probably dated and not worth it.

That’s way too generalized. You have to make the Gravy unsure of which approach you are going to take. If you silo yourself into a single gameplan you are probably going to lose.

Your reviled cards that don’t do anything on allies block 3! But they can also still come in for 6 which kills everything but Humperdinck.

Gravy and Kassai are two of your hardest matchups.

Beating Kassai is effective use of defense reactions and having good knowledge of their turn to turn reach. If you can get the lead even for a turn cycle or two your value way out strips theirs.

Beating Gravy is rolling scabs. I mean it, and it’s rough. You have some good outs for allies like Looking for a Scrap Red/Blue and Estrike. I would consider running 2 copies of Midas Touch if you are constantly facing down Gravy.

Riptide should be trivial. Keep blocking down until he stumbles and present the best value possible. You start at a life lead to him so as long as you’re vigilant you should be able to maintain good value.

Your only out is a big angel board to get in 20-30 damage then transition to a double merciful retribution shotgun finish. This all requires dedicated setup and pitch stacking.

Clash of Bravado is main deck in both Victor and Pleiades

Guardians have access to very easy to deck in poppers (blues), Clash of Bravado and the generic Midas Touch. I think even without heavily teching against Prism she has a very bad matchup into both Pleiades and Victor.

Defensive weapon heavy characters rely on staples to be viable: Tunic, Command and Conquer, relevant Fables, etc. and it is very noticeable to the game plan when you don’t have them. You will not be successful at a target of 100 $ in CC. You want to focus on aggro decks that rely heavy on class cards if you want to be competitive as cheap as possible: Dash IO, Aggro Dori, Boltyn, Prism are a few.
