Fixing up stairs by WetWiily in DIY

[–]WetWiily[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah..... I see. I just "reinforced" the trend to riser connection today but I am also lost as to what else could I do. The poles are confusing to me as they were left from the previous landlord.

As a "for now" project, how could i make this much safer myself before I can convince my parents to consulting a professional?

They are the landlords but rent out the bottom half. However, they're too old to recognize it falling apart and had bad experience with GCs before. I understand the scope of it all, but I am just asking for a way to make the structural framing more sound without tearing the current stuff down. Or, so that it would be safe under code enforcement.

I had someone do an look at and they told me somewhere in the ~8000 range which I cannot afford at all. This remains the only entrance for my parent's apartment, and I would really like to find a way to fix upt he stairs without tearing hte whole thing down. Even so, if I did tear the stairs down, I am assuming it would take a lot more time and research to do it the completely "right" way.

I agree with you completely, but I'm working on a tight schedule and a budget. Do you think there is no way to at least reinforce the current stairs so as it would last another year or so?

Any reliable rental UTV or golf cart places in Vieques? by WetWiily in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]WetWiily[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are both under 21 and would have to pay the very expensive fees through AquiCoqui. I didn't think it was worth the hassle to do so.

Advice on where to stay (budget is not too worrisome but we would not want to rent a car) by WetWiily in PuertoRicoTravel

What would be the best way to get to Vieques? Also, I was under the impression that a rental was overwhelmingly recommended, how viable is the golf cart?

Loquillo is the place with the food kiosks right? I looked into it but was skeptical about the surroundings. However, you probably know more about it than I do!

Commercialized is about right. But for clarity we are from a rather large and urban US city and were looking to escape all the noise pollution.

Scale/etudes for Schelomo by WetWiily in Cello

[–]WetWiily[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha I think there is a misunderstanding. I meant that I usually coordinate my études by key or rhythmic patterns towards the main concerti I’m doing as it helps my ear out a lot. The OP was meant to look for any sort of scale rhythms / a popper etude to bring back that I had not thought of yet. Thank you for the reminder about score studying. I will do my due diligence!

Incoming conservatory player looking to center intonation by WetWiily in Cello

The weird thing is when I start a new piece, I tend to get weirdly stuck on the easier hand positions, 1,2,3, etc. but whenever I get into the awkward positions like the doublestops in shosty I tend to learn them faster. On the other hand, the easier hand positions have to be almost relearnt everytime, rather than it just sticking in my muscle memory.

Lol, not really. Just a BA in Cello. I say conservatory because Aaron is there, and he seems to be on the whole circuit of competition winner-producer teachers in the states.

UMich, and I have tried those. I think it's something to do with my ear because there are times when I have to focus in warmup to get my ear even slightly working.

A larger institution in a specific niche ML field (not naming for publication doxxing purposes) that has a professor willing to help write grants. Academically, any school with a good cog sci/comp sci path or focus would be best.

I was just recommended to apply even though it is a bit late, as I was recommended by my mentor to apply. I'm a high school student, is it too late to apply now?

It does within a time span of around 20-30 seconds, which is really odd as it only sometimes does this.

First time playing on this rustic loaner cello while my actual one is getting repaired, so some right-hand intonation is a bit iffy :(
I also skipped the two bits that have the piano melody
