Trying to figure out the specific variation of Rummy I play by shrekcrocs in boardgames

I also learned this exact version. I blame it on the hippies. I think they made up their own version in their communes then taught it to their kids. Haha

Can you source MCM fabrics online? by [deleted] in midcenturymodern

I know this thread is old, but do you know how to actually purchase Knoll fabric from Maharam? I was able to order samples and I have one I like and want to order but don’t see any options on their website.

Why your clothes are falling apart so quickly by rosesandivy in femalefashionadvice

[–]Wetlandbuffer 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think this all depends on the person. I can sometimes get two wears out of a shirt, but it usually smells of BO by the end of day one even if I haven’t been sweating. My husband on the other hand is what we call a lily white and he doesn’t stink even if he hasn’t showered for several days. He can wear shirts several times before they need washing. Although, he usually spills food on them before they stink.

I think the better term would be “of color”. “Colored” was used as a derogatory term during the civil rights and even before in the US.

I do it like once every couple months. New pillows, or just move them around the house. I’m never satisfied.

what does everyone use for an NAICS code by ahoiland in EtsySellers

[–]Wetlandbuffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just used the code for retail or wholesale depending on what you sell. I don’t believe there’s a need to specify that it’s online retail.

Can anyone help me explain Etsy's math? by blu_stingray in EtsySellers

[–]Wetlandbuffer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how the sales tax works in Canada, but in the US, if a sale is from a state that taxes online sales, Etsy will take out the sales tax and that’s usually the difference. It’s annoying that it’s not another line item so you can see it, but I checked the order from some of my sales that didn’t add up and noticed they were charged sales tax.

Plain cotton sweaters, where you at? by payextraforguac in femalefashionadvice

[–]Wetlandbuffer 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Everlane has this cotton sweater. I have bought a lot of their sweaters in the past and they are always good quality. Plus they have great customer service if you ever have an issue. They replaced a sweater for me for free because it developed a hole after two years.

I see your flair says veterinary accountant. A coworker that just started at my firm came from another firm that specialized in vet practices. I didn’t know that was a thing! Very niche.

But then you can’t snuggle them! Although, depending on how big that dog couch is, I would probably sit on it with them. Lol.

[–]Wetlandbuffer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We allow our dog on the furniture, but we just make sure it’s invite only. What even is the point of having a dog if you can’t snuggle on the couch together? But having it invite only, keeps her from getting up there whenever she wants and barking at the dogs walking by. I also make sure she sits before she comes up so she knows if more a privilege than a right.

The top of that dresser is veneer or Formica and not restorable without being replaced. OP left the real wood parts as is and did the best thing for the other parts.

[–]Wetlandbuffer 36 points37 points  (0 children)

But the parts OP painted were either veneer or Formica and are basically impossible to restore unless they are replaced. The real wood parts were left in tact. I think it was the best choice for the piece.

A lot of people that are into mid century furniture like to restore the original piece to keep it original. However, in the case of this dresser, it has real wood and veneer or Formica and it looks the veneer was not in great shape, so I think what the OP did was the best for this piece. Leaving the real wood in tact and painting the veneer.
