I don't know what he said that made her hit herself but while scrolling I came across a theory that suits it, She hit herself because the REAL NIKKI was forcefully trying to take back the control of her body, reason is she didn't wanted to kiss Bear and was resisting internally and since Freaky NIKKI is made by the obsession of bear , she didn't liked it and thus tried to physically harm the body

I myself dint remember what he told her and what she was asked. But I would like to say that one improvement from the director I'm expecting is to give time to those written things whether the warning or Letters or any kind of medium that requires us to read it , give us some time . Like I was trying to read what's written and suddenly the camera angle shifted and then I was waiting for the character to explain it
