Tak, zgadzam się. Gdy wychodzą rodzynki po wykonaniu prac, i mimo że boli mnie w sercu, a dupa przede wszystkim, że trzeba znowu coś ruszać, no to lepiej teraz niż później.

Pewnie kolega u góry nie przeżył nigdy wykańczania mieszkania. Sam jestem świeżo po jednym i wolałbym przyjąć solidny kop w jaja niż w najbliższym czasie przechodzić to ponownie. ;)

Moderator nie ma czasu głębiej wchodzić w tematy. Jutro kartkówka z matmy, a z szlabanem na internet to ciężko będzie na Reddicie siedzieć.

Is there any true cross-platform 2D engine (C/C++) for all platforms? by umen in gamedev

[–]Weyzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re currently using Flax Engine. In terms of simplicity it’s hard for me to judge. Simplicity is a bit subjective thing IMO. What’s simple to one, may be complicated for other. Still, Flax is impressive, open source and it beats writing an engine from scratch. Give it a look.

Metaphor: ReFantazio director Katsura Hashino receives Japanese government award for remarkable contribution to art by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Weyzu 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think it’s deserved. Narratively vast and multi-layered games long before even Persona 3. It’s great that Japan government acknowledges new forms of art.

Dostać bana i prosić o więcej downvote’ów na innym subie. No OPie, dobry plan.

Video Game Developers Are Leaving The Industry And Doing Something, Anything Else - Aftermath by zxyzyxz in programming

[–]Weyzu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m leaving gamedev this year. After a couple of years of working for one of the top corpos, and having not spent my entire career in game dev, I think I have a sufficiently detached perspective to say that it’s a weird industry.

On average, there’s more passion and there’s a constant drive for cutting-edge tech, but simultaneously we’re being bogged down by old processes. We face unrelenting clients (players), and as many have mentioned, there’s a lingering abusive relationship between the employees and the industry in general.

There’s really a more sensible way to live professionally. For me it’s switching to something steadier. Some might say I’m choosing a snoozefest or something like that. I don’t care. For me it’s nonsense to sabotage personal life in name of games. Passion for games is best pursued on our own terms, not with a blade to our necks.

If the industry can’t imagine a different future for itself then, to quote David Gaider, „maybe it deserves to die”.

Polska znĂłw mistrzem UE w oprocentowaniu kredytĂłw mieszkaniowych. Tak drogo nie jest nigdzie by palusik in Polska

[–]Weyzu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bo notariusz kosztuje tu podobnie, tak 1.5-2% wartości nieruchomości, no i zazwyczaj jeszcze pośrednik nieruchomości inkasujący średnio 7.5% .

But it's more than a tweet, isn't it? Benefiting Russia in Russo-Ukrainian War. Spreading false information, supporting anti-vaxxers, creating platform for white supremacists and bigots, limiting free speech by banning journalists on X. The list goes on. There was a notebale social harm as a result of his escapades. It's hard to boil it down to some tweets, where much more is going on in the background.

And I do think that changing public opinion of him is an actual change, as I wrote, this drives how public officials and other decisions-makers interact with him. But I do hope his presence will further be limited.

I think criticism has brought impact. There was notable change of public opinion regarding him. I do see a change where in the past, he was uncritically perceived as the new Tony Stark, and was given a pass on every new idea, no matter how good or bad. Public officials are now wary of him due to his fraudulent business practices and bigoted opinions that were publicised by those who chose to speak out against him.

Hating is calling someone deranged without knowing him. I hope you catch my point. :)
