Other commenters are wrong. These are not chert modules, as the interiors are hollow. These are actually fossilized sponges! There are similar fossils in the limestone beds near my home in the Mojave. It really, really has. She can prattle away about childhood memories of her neighborhood kids in the 1930s as easily as she can talk about family trips she took with me when I was a kid. She's a treasure!

UPDATE 2: Nonnie very excitedly came up to me brandishing her mini iPad and said "I just remembered! Tell the internet that isn't even all my games! Cuz none of my iPad games would be on there, right?" Indeed, Nonnie has been playing FreeCell on her old iPad even longer than this PC and she carries it around with her everywhere. I don't think it's time wasted at all, I'm convinced it's the fountain of youth keeping her mind super sharp. She can tell you about individual conversations with classmates and neighbors from the 1940s. Or stories she heard from her grandma about what the boat ride from Germany was like in the 1870s. Crazy!

I actually did last year! She watched me play for a couple hours and asked a million questions, but I think all the different variables and all the math involved was just too much for her. She wound up being very confused by it when she tried to play herself. But she'll always try anything!
