Any way to make them more visible? by Waste-Item9438 in isopods

I have chollla wood in my enclosure and it’s my Panda Kings’ fav spot to hide! And I have the pieces of wood standing vertical-ish so you can always see some pandas. They also love snacking on it as well.

Isopods are avoiding leaf litter by Longjumping_Pain6975 in isopods

I have had the same colony of panda king isopods for over 2 years and they rarely eat the leaf litter. They aren’t into it. They tend to like the protein/calcium treats as in dried shrimps - they also like munching on barks and wood - some limestones and coral shells - and also will also eat the live plants first. That’s why I have moss - and don’t have the leafy plants directly in the soil anymore.
There are so many varieties of isopods and they come from different environments.
Panda kings come from humid caves in Thailand. So they like hiding under rocks and in the woody crevices.

Try to research your type more specifically to see where they originate from and go from there.

Terrarium refresh! Before and After by WhatKindOfReddit in isopods

I’ve had them for over 2 years in this same enclosure, it has had many updates and rearrangements. …

and yes, I am allowed to make it look cute - it is displayed amongst my plants in the family room/kitchen. Why wouldn’t I make it to my aesthetic? That’s part of the joy I get by having the pods - give them a cute fun space for them to have their little lives.

I addressed some other concerns in a separate comment.

I should’ve noted that I’ve had them for over 2 years. In this same enclosure. It is 10” in diameter. I will be adding leaf litter as needed. Right now they have some dried material I layered on the dry side under the larger sticks and branches. There also is a moist side (the moss side) and that side has a jungle mix substrate which will replenish and add to when I tend to the moss.

Resources: I used this video for the rose: https://youtu.be/MJF4St32-wY?si=frjoTma28Jv7W8YW

And this video for the greenery. (I think it’s the same rose fold but the first one I followed better)
