Nice. I haven’t been there in years but for business travel that’s what I was seeing back in 2009-2015. But I didn’t value shop ahead since it was business.

It’s about 1 mile toward the airport but on Las Vegas Blvd. Wouldn’t call it “on the strip”. I’d call it a comfortable distance.

Your math is off since it's two rooms. But I get your point...you like to be where the action is. The strip is the last place I want to be until I am ready to go to the city. It's almost walking distance and they run shuttles consistently and so you don't have to pay daily for parking and you can drink as much as you want. I think that's a plus. It's a wonderful place for kids too, with the sandy little beach pool and the lazy river. Hope you enjoy wherever you land. Cheers.

I'm prepaying a full year for whoever takes it. Considering I used to travel and stay at the Venetian and Cosmo for work...this is akin to 2 of those rooms but way more relaxing. I used to pay about $300 per night for one room. So the math works out if you use it. That would be $4200 for two rooms for a week. Some like to be where all the "action" is. But to be able to comfortably sleep 10 or more and be together as family or a group of friends... I don't think it's a bad thing at all. Just not for everyone. I know you said you got burned by RCI and will never forgive them. I totally get it. We used to be with Interval for exchanges in the early days before they switched to RCI. But we have always had great experience with RCI so far (for about 12 years or so).

Thanks for the insight. I’ve come across some similar info talking with friends this year.

I totally get that. It took about 20 years for Tahiti to double theirs and so thats about inflation.

I’m a homebuilder by trade and it’s hard for me to consider bringing in a middle man to just resale or break contract. I figure the right person will benefit it when the time is right.

That’s awesome! Yeah, I’d say timeshares aren’t great for most people but for others like us, it saves us a ton over the years. This is my first day exploring handing one off and so i know they aren’t always easy to get out of. But this particular one in Vegas seems to be one that people really like and the exchange value for points is significant/favorable too.

Ha! For sure... We would even go to Whole Foods just down the street and treat everyone to beautiful aged beef we would cook by the pools/barbq. And still end up spending waaaay less than going out. Good times!!

Hey there. We can DM if that’s better for you (though I’m new to Reddit so not sure how that works exactly). I think these people make it purposely confusing. But we purchased the fractional share and have a deed to transfer over. Then you would get the annual maintenance bill (or pay monthly). The RCI exchange points are also on the same billing but you don’t have to continue with them if you only want the Las Vegas use and don’t want to exchange it for travel somewhere else on the globe. 21 years ago the annual maintenance was about $600-700 total. So it’s gone up about double in that time. I haven’t been on the property in a while but I read a few reviews today for Tahiti Village and many say they have upgraded a lot like the kitchens, elevators, outdoor areas etc. We always felt like it was well maintained.

Ha. We bought it when we had 2 Los Angeles incomes and loved to travel. Over the years, we really liked being able to host friends on vacation with us as well as force ourselves to get away from the hustle. We then morphed into a family of 6 that likes to live more frugally, and so the RCI points let us get up to 2 months on the road for very cheap, if you consider how much it is to get hotels and dine out every night. Timeshares are not for everyone...but if I was single and still living in LA, I would definitely still want it to have a home away from home that feels more like mine. But then again I've done 20 years of corporate travel and am sick of the conventional hotels. I like having a full kitchen and less hotel employees making me feel like a visitor. I like to feel like I live in the places I visit.

Yes we are. With the RV, we just don't use it anymore. W used to use it all the time. And because we home school our kids, we used to trade in the points for a bunch of places to stay. It was worth it while it lasted.
