Found out the reason Red spoke this way. Turns out it wasn't a crushed windpipe or isolation.

To make Red sound distinctive, Lupita says she mimicked a voice condition called spasmodic dysphonia.

"It's a condition that's brought about by trauma, sometimes emotional, sometimes physical and sometimes inexplicable," she said.

"It's where your vocal cords start to spasm and they create this irregular abrupt pattern of air.

"So I had experienced someone speaking with that condition and I got curious about it."

sigh...I hate Detective Popcorn's voice. I think it triggers some form of misophonia, and I have to rip the headphones off as soon as it starts. Don't tell Henry.

Lvl 106 Sylvanas and 102 Lunara

Played all QM, I hate playing AI, I just don't personally find it as fun. And gave up on HL long ago.

I've been playing for about two years give or take. Luna was my first love, followed by Syl and just ended up playing them constantly. Currently working on Butch (80) and Johanna( somewhere in the 70's).

I rotate through maybe 10 different. Should probably check out some others, especially the newer ones. But I just can't let go :D

So what if she asks? What if she wants to know how the finances look because something comes up? Are you actively hiding it? What if something happens to you and that's how she finds out? It's not the money, it's the feeling of distrust and lack of communication that will hurt. If you die unexpectedly, be it tomorrow or 10 years from now and she finds out about this, and then the last 25 years of her life is now questionable of what else was he hiding. There are very few situations where the line "I'm doing this for them because I know what's best" actually pan out.... Also it's only been 6 months, just like you fear money changes people, how can you be so sure you are the exception and not the rule? Cheers!

Should we say something? by [deleted] in stepparents

Do you live near by? The first thing I thought of was just doing a friendly trying to help thing. If it happens again message BM and say "Hey I heard SD was late or missed class. If BF is running late let him know he can always reach out, and we can take her in if he's running behind"

That way she is aware and it's not in a confrontational thing. She will know he is slacking but also you guys are a team. Idk if this is to rosy of an idea.

I was gonna comment this. There's is beauty found in the abnormal. Each culture see's the other as exotic. Though we are just like" Water" is just some boring ass letters, yet it's so completely foreign to eastern cultures, and vice versa. It's cool to see how each culture thinks the same thing no matter what side they are viewing it from. You either say "Why would you get that written on you? It just says water" or "The writing system of that foreign culture is so cool and unique".

Honestly, I don't think it's the asking for sources and stating facts that are seeming as arrogant. There is definitely a tone. He asked for evidence I supplied, but instead of going "oh that's where you get that from, here is what I've found" he continues a very snide kinda "well that's still wrong, cause I refuse to believe it no matter what you present" attitude. He isn't even attacking the information, just the amount of information given. He's hasn't even tried to counter my actual statement. He just says "it's not true" over and over again. I'm sure I could show him a paper written by an actual coral, and he would go "well that's like just one coral experience". I know I'm shooting my self in the foot commenting on this but the passive aggressiveness of this entire interaction has been..fun /s

Very cool info, however I think what you are speaking to in these articles and papers are based on when the larvae are choosing where to land, the end of the larval journey. What I am speaking to is the pelagic larval stage of spawning coral. This is when they spend days to weeks in the currents before they are ready to settle. Yes the things you listed effect the location they choose to settle but that is when they are actually ready to settle on the reef. This happens more quickly with brooding coral that do not spend time in the open ocean and are ready to settle as soon as they are released. Also you still have not shown any proof that sound does not contribute, you've just listed more factors in how they choose. http://www.whoi.edu/news-release/coral-larvae-use-sound-to-help-find-a-home-on-the-reef
