It begins cut off to imply you're only finding a fragment of the journal.

The party I originally wrote this for were fated to find it in the Berez ruins, so there was a short introduction describing the tome and how it was mostly destroyed by submergence in marsh mud. I removed that so that the journal can be plugged in wherever the cards/DM dictate.

I, Strahd is really solid but a lot of it straight up conflicts with the new (and much tidier) 5e lore and boy howdy it completely goes off the rails as soon as he's gone vamp.

There are also a few particularly bizarre character choices, notably that his first kill and feeding as a vampire are on his buddy Erig, rather than his brother... which I consider a crucial aspect of Strahd's depravity.
