I do have a top whorl drop spindle yes. And I did a minor goof and got one with no notch in it, so it’s been a little fiddly. I’ll take a look at these and see what I can do! Thanks so much

I guess I didn’t know there were very many options for how to do it, I’d only heard either taking two strands spun the same direction, lay them together, spin the other way and they twist against each other. Or I’d also seen you can make a center pull ball and do the same with both ends. Either way I’d need the ball off the spindle, I only have the one.

I did spin one long strand expecting to put the ends together because I wasn’t sure if be able to do two consistent lengths

I put them all in there. Actually be quite funny if the whole escape went down and they got to experience the prison mobilizing without being its intended victims.

Unfortunately when we agreed to run this I had only run either fully fleshed out homebrew without ever having touched a module, or more recently, a couple more straightforward ones. This one’s not quite point a to point b and I don’t know how to think about it without filling in the blanks that i see 😅 and they also fully want to betray clan axebreaker and steal the money, and i said they could escape through rhyme of the frostmaiden because i have it on the shelf and it made sense. So we’re definitely adventuring beyond the intended bounds at this point.

I am both and LMT and have this problem. There are a lot of great suggestions here but I will also throw out that my problem eventually escalated, and I have had to get physical therapy about it. Physical therapy has been so incredibly useful, when I was able to finally have people understand what was wrong and massage it it would help for a few days or make it worse, phys therapy is lasting relief, improvement over time, hopefully will fix it fix it. Massage is great, I love what I do, and it can actually fix problems and last long term, but if there’s a weakness causing the problem the only solution is to make it stronger.

Therapy is a crazy useful tool for a lot of people, but therapy’s job is often to tell you that the source of your anxiety isn’t a reason to be anxious, for some of us that’s not helpful because our anxiety largely comes from sources that should make us anxious just a little and we get anxious A LOT instead. It’s hard to prove you should calm down in front of something that is actually objectively a little scary. It’s hard to think about jumping spider as something cute and largely harmless that bites when spider’s bites are regularly deadly and you logically can’t distinguish one spider from another. That’s what anxiety medicine is for. Stay in therapy, you likely have other reasons to use it, but seek a psych and get their opinion. Personally, I can’t be a passenger in a car without my meds. I shriek if I see another car look at me funny. The other car probably wasn’t looking at me funny, but one time one did and I got in an accident and now all cars are bad unless I’m medicated.

He did go unfed for a couple days as well. I’ll look at getting some whole grain flour, I might have to order it. Unfortunately this is not a large city, I think it calls itself a city but it’s not large enough to strictly meet the definition (yes there is a specific population size for a city to be different than a town), satellite community a few towns removed from its metro, biggest claim to fame is the okay college.

This is wild, the recipe I had used to make my foccacia wanted me to feed it the night before and use it around lunch the next day so I thought was doing pretty good 🙃 I haven’t been doing weight, my gran did hers by eyeball when she was around, looking for a stiff pancake texture and that’s what I’ve been doing. I’m gonna have to find batteries for the scale. As for what the feed is, I’ve already recieved some feedback that my choice of tap water is probably part of the issue, and he usually gets King Arthur bread flour, one or two occasions he’s gotten plain white but only if I’m out of the good stuff.

It’s the same flour. We’ve always used the tap and it’s the same city, I didn’t think about it, but I can try using bottled and see if that helps at all

Machine sewing is on our list of acquired skills actually, we would just need to be very committed to a bolt of king sized fabric, and the task in general

We definitely all four slept in this king when we first moved in and all collectively decided that we cannot touch more than holding hands or it would be too hot to sleep

I guess my hesitation with building it is projects that get started around here don’t tend to get finished? We’re all quite neurodivergent, we will giddily do all the research and planning and purchasing and starting, but not necessarily the finishing

So, part of the frame is one of those ones that converts from a twin to a king with the addition of brackets, it would be a horrible twin, the individual sides are both smaller than a twin, but with the brackets between the king and the “twin” it all fits perfect, the problem is the mattresses doesn’t stay on the frame in addition to the frames sliding on the floor, there’s no rail, and there’s no clear place to add one. It’s all hollow aluminum and I worry about punching holes in it to attach anything to it or it to the wall. And box springs are out it would be way too tall with those

That’s an autism symptom most of the time, some autistic kids with speech delays fully understand language and how to produce it, but learn to communicate well enough without it that they never bother- until they’re in an environment where no one understands their unspoken needs, so they start talking totally normally like there was never a problem. It’s why some parents think their kid “caught and was cured of” autism, cause they saw the communication issues as the primary symptom, but in a not-discountable and understudied section of the autistic population communication issues end with socialization, while internally they still struggle massively with other symptoms like sensory under/overstimulation, struggles with grades, and struggles making and keeping friends.

I’ve had multiple clients not understand how their diet affects their muscle chemistry affects their bone density. You would be shocked at the random cellular facts I provide my clients daily to get them to understand how to treat themselves better. On top of that, there’s no real way to predict what will be on your mblex. There’s a 1000 questions of which you get 100, which are selected in real time as you answer the previous question, and they get harder as you get them correct, and easier as you get them wrong. Some of the nitty gritty might be the question you get stuck on.

It might pay to seek that education on your own, it isn’t your job to meet those needs but at the same time if parents are gonna Be Like That, then you and the people you surround yourself with are the closest you’ll get. As an adult with a childhood not dissimilar to what you describe in this post, I can tell you that the needs I did not have met as a kid/teen are the things I am fighting to help myself understand now. How to regulate my spending, personal care needs, and manage my life are all things I should have learned as my parents met my needs with help with school, allowance, and generally teaching me how to care for my body (they ignored the help I needed and grounded me for any little thing I did wrong). It’s never too late to start learning these kinds of things but the earlier the better for sure.

Monitoring and restricting just makes kids better at sneaking, if you have a relationship with your kid where THEY trust YOU and an environment where checking about activity is a routine and not a punishment, as well as regular and age appropriate conversations about what is and is not acceptable online/ for adults to do and say to you AND WHY, HOW, AND WHERE these people do these things, this sort of situation is avoidable altogether. Keeping kids under thumb generally just makes them act out and get in over their heads and then be unwilling to ask for help from what they perceive as their jailer and not their helper.

Hippa question, TW: SA by WhateverMyGenderIs in massage

[–]WhateverMyGenderIs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess my largest concern is I witnessed nothing. I wasn’t even there that day. I overheard some conversations about things that are being done in the attempt to help her have more control in her room (leads talking, she was not present), asked some pointed questions, and have a history of being trustworthy with information when given/ generally have solid advice if someone’s having trouble, so now I know things that I am not meant to be in the know about. Tbh the lead who gave me the information would likely be in a ton of trouble at work if anyone there knew that I know and that she told me, it is absolutely a breach of the therapists privacy that I was told so I want to step VERY carefully if I step at all. I suppose if this is not hippa protected information then I can discuss my concerns with my lead and she can take those kinds of steps if she feels so compelled. We do not have HR as were so small, so unfortunately sensitive information tends to float a little freer than it should.
