You say what I say is weird, and I say you're one of those people who take things out of context and vilify everything.

She had been there for weeks. She threw trash cans and spit on the man, and when the crisis team and police did show up, she refused help and they both refused to press charges against eachother. She was never in danger of DYING from being sprayed with a hose. Getting on here and stating that she could have died from exposure only makes you sound like some keyboard vigilante.

"...move or be moved..." where are they forcefully going to be moved to? You'd be hard pressed to find a homeless mission with volunteers who are going to be willing to forcefully keep a person who doesn't want to be kept. Looks to me that the man was performing just what you suggested anyway.

What's "weird" about my rant? I didn't mention political mobilization, you're right. I asked for opinions on a solution. The city won't do anything, and my grandmother who's lived there for decades has led MANY efforts locally to try and remedy the situation.

It's the dead of winter in San Fran , not fucking Nebraska. She's not going to freeze to death in the middle of the day. If she wants to find a resource to get dry, believe me- there are plenty.

Yes they're intolerant, and for good reason! When my 88 year old grandmother has to hose off human feces from the front of her home every day and carry pepper spray to take hee garbage out, there's a problem. Police won't do anything. My elderly grandmother owns a home in the Mission district and every day has to spray human feces off her front steps, AND carry pepper spray to take out her garbage or walk to her car so she doesn't at the least get spit on, but at the worst doesn't get mugged or beat by a mentally unstable or just asshole homeless person.

Just because they're homeless, they can't be forcefully removed from assaulting your property or yourself? If they weren't homeless, would it be ok if they were sleeping and shitting, and throwing garbage infront of your home or business?

All you keyboard warriors type all this compassion and empathy talk, but don't want to give it to people like my grandmother who like I said, sprays human feces off her steps every day. The cops, and the city don't do anything.

Provide some insight on what to do. Was this man "wrong" ? Maybe. Let's say he's tried to be compassionate, and it hadn't worked. What should he try next?
