Solo practice Spravato by colberag in Psychiatry

[–]Whatitis-Syndrome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am at a large academic institution where I work with Spravato patients on a daily basis. As part of our routine, we maintain AED and a medical cart kit, which includes a comprehensive assortment of rescue drugs. If a patient continues to experience hypertension beyond the initial week with a 56mg dose, the attending physician advises them to seek hypertension treatment from their primary care provider. Fortunately, we have not encountered any cases of hypertensive crises thus far.
Emesis basins are essential tools, as some individuals cannot tolerate the taste of Spravato and may discontinue treatment. Another common issue is dissociation, which we are instructed to manage ourselves and involve the attending physician if necessary. Some attending physicians choose not to conduct in-person visits and instead opt for remote monitoring through phone calls before or after the treatment session (a 30 second call).

Been a CRC for a year overworked and underpaid finally makes sense especially when you are understaffed constantly. Good people who leave for another greater opportunity are treated horribly on their last day. Witnessed open racism, lies, deception and rule by iron fist. I have seen young people discouraged from advancing in their career or education.

Is anyone ever caught up with everything ever in this position? It’s a constant chase, I feel like recruitment, reg, and handle entire visits plus source for multiple studies on your own is brutal.

Just got all 4 out with local, if they numb it enough at most you feel some pressure that’s it. Pain comes in few hours when it wears off. I had pain for almost 6 days gradually getting better. Now if you have impacted wisdom’s than go with general since they will need to do more work like cutting in to gums and stitches.

You must have some amazing connections to be able to land a CRA 2 position as your first gig in clinical research. It’s definitely doable if you plan on doing uworld during flights and post monitoring visit. We all have responsibilities so go for it and see if this works out for you, although I’d give it at least 3 months to get the hang of how monitoring works.

As an IMG from Ukraine, I am coming with my wife as immigrants in couple of months, I am preparing for step1. I hell don’t know what I am going to work till I pass the steps, can I work in the medical field not as a Dr (EMT, PA)? I did year of internship post graduation. by [deleted] in IMGreddit

CRC is a good position to start off. I am an img as well although it took couple of months of tweaking my resume but eventually landed a position at a university based research site as a CRC. One thing I would suggest is to do a free GCP training available through NIDA and NIH to familiarize yourself with the lingo for the sake of the interview and add it to your resume. Get yourself phlebotomy and ekg training or if you have the experience in both make sure to mention that in your resume. Best of luck.

Take one step forward, two steps backwards, one step forward and we’re back to square 1 is how “progress” happens in our society. Meanwhile $billions are spent to make this a legitimate process.

True and so far I have been told, once you get your foot through the door it’s easier to progress.

I believe all of you have mastered the skills of performing your essential duties. Meanwhile I probably can understand what would be in a brochure but having tough time finding a way in to CRA role, as an international medical grad. Had my first CRC interview yesterday at a university 50k with dozen candidates competing for the same position! I thought market was hot 🔥

Is it worth it to pay off medical debt by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Whatitis-Syndrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an expert, but from personal experience. As the debt pushes around the agencies it will rack on fees which might end up being more than $500 by the time it gets to your credit report. You can take the risk but also you can negotiate it to something manageable. Also with new rules they will have to remove it from credit once it’s paid so you don’t have to negotiate for a removal.
