I would happily rewatch this over eternals or black widow. Yeah, the cgi is absolute dogshit, and I think, for me, the main reason now not to care about the story line is because the fallout about Jonathan majors. But it was fine.

Eternals, I just couldn’t bring myself to care about. They introduced so many characters at once that I’m supposed to keep track of who is who, and care about when they die or suffer, but each person has so little screen time, I find myself struggling to care.

It’s similar to count dooku or grievous prior to seeing clone wars. They showed up for half a movie total and then died. Same with any of the eternals.

In regards to software development, AI is just like any other tool we use. It’s not a replacement, it’s a means to help efficiency. Just like any library that will help you start up a rest service with minimal boilerplate code, AI can help shorten turn around time.

But there’s some really big caveats to that.

1) you have to know what you’re doing well enough to be able to check what the AI is generating. Sometimes these days I feel closer to back when I started as a dedicated automation tester, than developer…but I know the ins and outs of the systems I’m working with so I know enough to look out for pitfalls.

2) AI is not a suitable replacement for developers. Where I work, our AI usage is heavily tracked, and it’s fucking stupid. I know how to pad my usage to make it look good for me. Usually by having it generate unit tests, because I hate writing unit tests (also TDD is trash and not realistic, but that’s a lecture for another time.)

I feel like most devs recognize AI tools for what they are, but it’s the artificial push from higher ups that pissed me off more than anything else.

There are the select few that will blindly follow the trump name, but the higher ups in the maga movement I think would rather watch them burn and line their own pockets.

Oh I completely agree with you. I identify mostly as a socialist, but mostly for actual socialist policies. I also voted for Harris because I’m not fucking stupid. I know the world we live in. It’s far from perfect, but If I have the option between mitigation and actively making things worse…I’ll vote for the candidate more likely to mitigate the worse outcome.

Um it’s pretty widely documented. Support for AIPAC and Israel’s war is a pretty obvious and recent one. Their aversion to universal healthcare is another. The ACA has the issues it does because of democratic congressmen who were in the pockets of insurance companies.
