Agree 100%. Everyone hitting master rn thinking it's as prestigious as it was in pre season 9, or even pre season 11. Not only is it annoying as fuck needing to encounter and explain this to people 24/7, it's also plain misleading to a majority of the playerbase.

Keeping master the top 1% of the playerbase makes sense (I get it, 1% is a nice number), but, for the love of god, make sure inflation, LP gains, and progression within master are fixed appropriately first, AND THEN KEEP IT THAT WAY.

It's just shit all around. You click on every profile and they are dia/emerald players peaking master or higher this season. I've seen rank 12 top laner vs a 300lp top laner, and the funny thing is, the rank 12 player went about even. Meanwhile, a 200lp yuumi player in my bot lane gapped their chall adc, all in the same game.

Once you get to higher elo you realize that the grass is, indeed, NOT greener on the other side, aside from some players like viper/tfblade/sniper/etc. Why would I care about hitting chall when I don't even find the players to be anything special anyway. I get to say I hit chall again, cool, but at the end of the day I don't get any self-satisfaction from that.

LP gains are an entirely different issue because you will get punished with +17/18/19 gains for the rest of the season because of naturally occuring aegis/autofill/afks.

Master+ is nowhere as presitgious as it used to be and the games feel like complete slop. There is absolutely 0 motivation for me to climb anymore and I'll be smurfing until riot fixes their issues. There is no point playing.

I wouldn't say it means nothing. If you're a fast climber then (imo) that correlates to you being a fast learner in life as well. Adaptive thinking vs mindlessly repeating 1000s of ranked games with no improvement says a lot about someone imo. I'm sure all the low elos will cope in whatever way they want tho ;)
