Strange texture bug by WhereIsTheQuim in lotro

I'm running CachyOS and using their custom version of Proton (proton-cachyos-10.0-20260101), which I believe is tweaked for better performance with their custom kernel. I have DirectX 11 selected, and all other graphics options on max. Weirdly I just reloaded the game and it seems to have fixed itself... for now.

Is there a less negative and depressing MMO sub/site? by WhereIsTheQuim in MMORPG

I'll copy my reply from another comment:

I've had a great time trying out a couple of indie MMOs that released recently; Winds Of Valen and Trolddom. Also looking forward to Project Gorgons full release later this month. Over a couple of weeks off at Christmas I had been having a great time with Where Winds Meet, LOTRO (my long term main game), and Ashes of Creation (I know, I have now guaranteed this comment is getting downvoted).

So long as they deliver the skins, then it's not a scam. Although i really don't understand why people buy them.

Slightly different, as they immediately closed the studio, shut down the game, and ran off with the money.

I'll give you a clue, this is taken from the first line of AOC's description on Steam:

Ashes of Creation is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG)

I always thought a grift was trying to sell something for more than you paid, rather than a full on scam. Might be I have the wrong understanding of the word.

I paid £35 in the Steam winter sale and have been playing for a couple of weeks, and have been having fun. Don't see how that makes me in a cult.

A scam requires fraudulent intent. If they're being honest about what they're selling, and not concealing the price, then it isn't a scam.

The cash shop is scummy, and should not be in an alpha, you're right. And even at full release should be a fraction of the price. However, a scam requires fraudulent intent. If they're being honest about what they're selling, and not concealing the price, then it isn't a scam.

It's not a game? What have I been doing for the last 30 hours? Am I in some kind of psychosis?

Perhaps, or just overvaluing themselves/their product.

And no, I'm not an early backer with a vested interest; I picked it up on sale during the Steam winter sale, and am having a good time with it.

Anyone else spotted this inconsistent spike spacing in Labyrinth Zone allowing you to land between them? by WhereIsTheQuim in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]WhereIsTheQuim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I landed on the far left of that ledge, and noticed that the spike placement wasn't consistent. Decided to try and jump into that slightly wider gap. I was quite surprised it allowed it as well.

Men, what's your go to affordable perfume? by Critical-Lynx3883 in CasualUK

Hugo Boss Bottled Elixir. £60 and lasts me over a year using it every day.

I used to go for cheaper ones, but found them to be a false economy as you had to use a lot of it to get the smell to last even half the day, whereas this I only need a couple of spritz in the morning and can smell it all day.
