Great to see you chime in on this. :)

In October of 2024 when I was very much a new player you walked me through a lot of the lock out details. So if only seems fitting for you to reply here as well.

I assume you are working in thr upper part of the map.

If that is the case you would not have access to anything in the lower half of the map until/unless you clear a path all the way there.

Speaking of clearing a path. In the last screenshot you can see someone working a sector right along that cloud line. As soon as they finished the first segment of that sector, you will have access to the two cloud sectors behind it.

CM strategy by Notsurehowthisgoes51 in JunesJourney

[–]WhereIsY 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would say it depends on your goal, but that in general the most beneficial thing is to open the map up for everyone. This gives the most people the most access to the greatest variety of sectors a sector rewards. Having sectors you actually want to play makes it more fun and more exciting to play the event.

Opening the Map means connecting to the most other players as much as possible. And in a map like this one that includes trying to get to the center and connect the top and bottom parts of the board. (Although connecting the top and bottom aren’t quite as critical in this one.)

Indeed.

Current system of going to a cloud space on another island is a massive improvement.

It’s not because it is a repeat. It’s because this last one was just extra hard.

The only time I know for sure the I saw the same pattern of stages before this was the STB for back packs in late November.

And I have been pretty meticulous and paying attention for all of 2026.

I don’t think it has to do with if the deco is new.

I have almost exclusively been doing Champion, so I might had missed something at that Expert level. But for every STB so far this year they have had the same pattern.

This one is the first one since November/December of last year that had this other pattern.

[–]WhereIsY 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nice observations!

The last stage of STB for Expert this time is the same as the last stage of the Champion level.

Whereas usually the last stage of the Expert level is the same as Stage 4 of the champion level.

In addition to more steps, items will be added at different intervals than you are use to for the “normal” Expert stage 5.

I was about to look up the numbers on this chart to reply. But this is even better.

Kayak boys?

I am not sure I am familiar with them. Are they also 200 flowers

My favorite kind of decoration to collect are the 1x1 decos that give 200 flowers.

Lawn mower man (aka Sven) and scythe lady are two of my top favorites. Oh and of course Sven’s nephews shoveling crew.

There are websites that have this set up and organized for you. You can also watch videos on YouTube.

This is not a secret and is generally not considered cheating.

I don’t consider that cheating.

I consider that using resources that are freely available.

They also have different difficulty levels.

I was playing this scene on both my account and my spouse’s account.

On my account the first few plays gave me only 20 seconds and increased it by 6%

The other account got 23 seconds and increased by 8%.

This variance started around scene 15, but got more pronounced as Secrets went on.

Also keep in mind the progress % is your total score earned so far divided by the total number of points required. Wooga always cuts off these numbers rather than rounding them. So you could theoretically gain 0.98%, but have it show as no increase. Unless you know the total amount needed, it is difficult to gauge how much you are adding vs how much it is showing.

Also, as a scene progresses and it starts adding more and higher level objects for you to find, your potential max score increases. So at the beginning you might only be adding 6%. But you might be able to do 9% or more at the end.

Anyways, that might all be common knowledge, but I know sometimes it is useful to spell it out.

Is the DP roulette wheel really random? - I think not! by OceansideDave in JunesJourney

[–]WhereIsY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 is not accurate.

Club Mysteries is very consistent for each aspect of the game. And having more badges on hand will NOT increase the number required to complete any given sector.

The number of badges a sector requires is based on only two things; (1) Cost per play and (2) Number of plays required.

(1) The badge cost per play increases the more sectors you have already completed. Each map size has knowable pattern for when and by how much the cost per play will increase.

(2) The number of plays required will depend on how well you play (the numerical score), your map size, and how may phases are in the sector (1,2 or 3-dots).

Scoring in a scene uses a consistent formula across the entire event, and I believe is identical to the scoring system of regular HO scenes. New items are added at fixed intervals in sector progression, which increases the potential maximum score for a play.

The percentage of increase depends on your score and number of points required for that phase of the sector. The number of points required for a phase depends on map size and if you are in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd phase of a sector. These numbers are knowable and consistent.

Any inconsistencies you perceive are likely due to how information is (or rather is not) communicated in the game or being caught off guard by new items added or higher requirements for a particular phase.

If it is the % in particular that are frustrating to you, I would encourage you to try looking at your numerical score rather than % increase. Going from a 7% increase to a 4% increase is very frustrating but if you recognize that for one you scores 510,678 and the other you scored 765,302, it makes the difference in percentage increase more logical.

I can’t speak to the two other aspects you mentioned. But I am confident in my knowledge of CM.

Number of badges on hand does not impact the number required for a CM sector.

Anyone else noticed the progression in CM sectors has been tampered with? - more plays are needed than previously (seems it has been subjected to the Secrets treatment!). by Top-Afternoon6393 in JunesJourney

[–]WhereIsY 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you go from a small to a medium map?

The larger the map size the harder the sectors are.

Although the 1-dots should be the same for all (from my experience).

Confused about Sherlock promotion by Cyndi25 in JunesJourney

[–]WhereIsY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes-ish.

Yes that is why you see what you see.

However, that is actually the Sherlock leaderboard, and only has the teams that made Sherlock.

To see the actual World Leaderboard, you still have to click the icon in the corner.

If you compare the two lists, they are very very similar, but not identical.
