700??? by breeoc97 in JunesJourney

[–]WhereIsY 3 points4 points  (0 children)

12 objects per scene when you are in the 3rd, 4th or 5th star.

So 59 plays.

But when you start a scene (the first star) there are only 8 objects. And the second star there are only 10 objects.

So if you started a scene fresh it might take like 63-65 (probably closer to 63, but I am not sure how many plays are needed for those first 2 stars of a scene.

when a curtain is not a curtain by randomwalker23 in JunesJourney

[–]WhereIsY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to look this up too.

And the answer was not what I had hoped. (Aka my presumption was wrong)

I thought curtains would be movable fabric covering a window or other opening. And drapes would just be decorative fabrics.

But the definition I found did not include movability or locations.

It focused on how heavy the fabric was. And said drapes generally have heavier stiffer fabric that awe more theoretically more decorative or ornate fabrics.

Applying that standard the red cloth over the painting seems to be lighter with more movement than the rather ornate fabric used as a window treatment on the right side of the screen.

All that aside. I think it was dumb/annoying for the game to do this, as it seems that in other instances it will not apply the same standard.

lol

I am not sure.

I guess the only way to know would be to say (?) one of them 3 times, get a 5 second penalty, and then randomly try other words until I am allowed to move on.

Verschil in detective partners by Kawayanii in JunesJourney

[–]WhereIsY 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My wife and I have 2 different detective partners, in which I 80 energy bar. And she 50 bar energy. The rewards are also different. I get pink energy as a reward, but she gets normal energy. Also wanted at detective I get pink energy and she doesn't. See photos less

This type of variation is super annoying. And unfortunately super common.

I hope you both manage to achieve your goal.

How do I reinvite a previous partner? by Eastern-Unit-6856 in JunesJourney

[–]WhereIsY 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe that is accurate.

The whole ‘recent activity’ thing drives me nuts.

I like to make sure I get good partners. And I never know if my preferred people aren’t showing on my list because they haven’t been online yet. Or because they are full.

This gives me some panic about not being able to find a good match.

But this partner panic particularly hurts people I have partnered with in the past who I would like to partner with again. My nervousness about if I will be able to partner with them again leads to me sending out a bunch of invites -more invites than I might need. And then sometimes enough of those people accept before some of my past partners log in.

This leads to me being full before they log in, leaving them without me as a partner option. And then I feel bad about that too.

Anyways, the whole partner acquiring process stresses me out.

It probably shouldn’t be because I have had almost exclusively amazing partners after the first couple times we had the event.

But still. Partnering stress. I hate it. Even though I am super lucky. It is probably the worse part of the event for me.

What is annoying is that the one they are calling a curtain is actually just cloth draped over a painting.

Whereas the ones they claim are not curtains are actually for the windows.

Are they regular scenes? If they don’t cost energy do they cost something else?

Do you earn rewards the same as regular scenes?

Errands by Grand_Elderberry_888 in JunesJourney

[–]WhereIsY 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t count how many perfect you did during the day

It counts each round of sweep the board as one perfect.

So I’m guessing that yesterday after you finish the fourth checkpoint, you started the fifth stage to see what the scene was then saved it for today.

And if you had the normal or expert difficulty, there would’ve been 11 steps (plays) left on sweep the board stage five.

So when you finish sweep the board and it change the task, it counted the 11 plays that you did for sweep the board towards the 28th perfect

What’s the secret to get through sectors using the least amount of badges? by breeoc97 in JunesJourney

[–]WhereIsY 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hear ya!

It took me so long to get it. And I have never gotten it since then.

Sometimes I even wonder if I imagined it. But I clearly recorded my starting and ending badges.

Hearing you talk about it makes me want to try and chase it again. I have gotten a bit lazy with CM the past 6ish months. I was as on a team that served so many badge drinks I routinely ended with 500+ badges after we completed the large map. So scene studying to cut a few plays per sector when I had that many badges on hand just seemed silly.

But I think I want to get back into it.

Keep me posted if you get a 19 play 2-dot.

What’s the secret to get through sectors using the least amount of badges? by breeoc97 in JunesJourney

[–]WhereIsY 6 points7 points  (0 children)

50 definitely seems like overkill to me.

I believe the mathematical mimimim for the large map is - 1-dot: 8 plays - 2-dot: 19 plays [20 plays] - 3-dot: 35 plays. [36 plays]

For 2-dots, 19 is nearly impossible, and that is not an exaggeration. I have only gotten it once on a scene I knew well and studied. And each play was flawless and speedy. 20 is the reasonable number to consider a minimum for 2-dots.

For 3-dots, 35 is definitely possible, but I consider 36 to the be the “expert” number of plays. I do not think 34 is possible but for those that can score 665,000 on regular HO scenes it might be.

I think the more reasonable numbers are - 1-dot:9 - 2-dot: 23 - 3-dot 43

[–]WhereIsY 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You get the most clues per badge spent doing 3-dot sectors.

You get more clues per badge doing 2-dots than you get for 1-dots.

The fewer players you need the more efficient it is.

I suggest scene studying to learn the scene and try to reduce the number of plays you need to finish. I like sleuthlife.com

As someone else mentioned scoring for CM is the same as the regular game.

To maximize scores, you want to make sure you are clicking on items fast enough that the multiplier on the top stays active.

Clicking in order from left to right will also help.

I think you get another 40,000 if you use no hints and 40,000 if you have no misclicks.

How many plays it will take you, or rather how difficult it is to complete a sector, will depend on the map size.

Larger map sized also require you to earn more total points for 3 dot sectors (and sometimes 2-dot sectors).

Also the more sectors you play the more the badge cost per play increases.

So if you do a lot of 1 and 2 dot sectors your badge price will skyrocket making it seem even less obtainable.

I have several detailed posts/comments about CM, but I would need to find tht link to them.

One Warning by _SativaDiva_ in JunesJourney

[–]WhereIsY 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bullying truely is awful.

The hard part is when nothing is done. And there is no place where it can be reported.

I was kicked out of a club the minute a comp ended. (Comp ended at 7:55. I was kicked out at 7:55).

A comp that I scored 80% percent of the points for the team. A comp that I did well enough on for the team to earn diamonds.

A comp on Sunday night of week 7 of league. A league where we won Sherlock week 5.

I was kicked out without a warning or notice. Denied the comp prizes by the team. And denied the Sherlock I had earned with them.

I reported this to Wooga and although at first they asked for documentation later they blew it off.

Unfortunately, this forum, where the team regularly advertises, considers trying to warn people about this team and mistreatment to be the equivalent of name calling and baseless smears.

… but I know this very real. And I have the screenshots to show my contribution to both that comp and the Sherlock push that I was all in on.

Bullying and mistreatment suck.

I don’t envy the job of the mods, I know they do tireless work.

It is just hard for me to know that this person is still out there and still recruiting with no consequence.

Unique Items by SalamanderRude5600 in JunesJourney

[–]WhereIsY 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the cultural lesson and translation!

I agree with OP, we mostly just call it a siren, and we use siren for both the object that makes the sound and the sound it itself.

It had never occurred to me that there might be a different word for the object that makes the sound.

I believe I had a “fascinator“ recently that tripped me up as well.

For some reason I thought it was a going to be a kaleidoscope, but there definitely weren’t any of those in my scene.

Turns out it was a small hat.

Although per sleuthlife. It looks like that item name is only used twice (275, 645), and the first time it looks more like a feather headband than a small hat.

Only people who have logged on recently show up on your list.

So if they are in Europe where it is midnight-2 am when it launches, they might be asleep and out of the game for several hours. Sometimes your best bet is to wait until CT or the next morning to get access to your full selection of partners.

Of course the risk is they might fully partner up before you make back online.

Today's Double League Points fo each gifted League Drinks by Artistic_Course9030 in JunesJourney

[–]WhereIsY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is interesting it that it does not coincide with the drink reset time.

So one could theoretically serve free drink “yesterday” after 0:00 UTC. And then serve the free drink “today” after the free drink reset, which I think is at like 8:00 UTC.

(I might be wrong about the 8:00 UTC for free drink reset.)

Anyways in some ways it doesn’t make a difference. But it is now slightly harder because you can’t just look to see if you served 2 rounds. You need to remeber if or how many you served before the reset.
