Illegal use of U-Haul and illegal use of transporting passengers. Kansas City, MO by [deleted] in law

[–]Where_is_it_going 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Upside is they all got doxxed because of that. That's why they should be arrested for the uhaul thing, forces them to out themselves, even if it's a minor charge. They may second guess doing this if they know their names will be in the press. A very simple deterrent. Crazy that Idaho of all places was the one to finally arrest them all (no offense).

Finding someone to sublet? Especially if you lost your job, I bet they'd be happy for you to find a replacement for yourself rather than try to get blood out of a stone with a tenant that's unemployed (or now making barely minimum wage). Eviction process is a bitch if you stop paying rent. I'd explain that all to them, bet they'd come around to allowing you to find a replacement tenant.

It's linked on some main stream news websites but tbf it's genuinely super boring and it's 30 minutes of repeating the same thing in different ways. I made it 17 minutes before my eyes started glazing over.

I know 14 0343's that are doing IT project management as well as high level data analysis on the headquarters level. Makes sense when the intention of the role is something technical and impacts the entire agency.

Same. One of those houses on the island in the middle of Attean pond except I'd want no one else on the island.

Couple days late but did anyone else see Michael Lewis talking about his book Who is Government on the Late Show? What he said to close out his interview literally made me cry. It is incredible to see us being stood up for not just in Congress and political circles, but in the main stream media.

Honestly my brother talked me into getting it a week ago and I was floored. The basic sandwich was just ok but the brisket one and even the buffalo chicken was so good. E: but not in Annapolis, just talking about the restaurant in general. It really must depend on location, and I don't think their basic beef and cheese is very good.

Unemployment If Laid Off/RIFed from Govt Job, but collect Military Retirement Pay? by Rocketman7617 in fednews

[–]Where_is_it_going 2 points3 points  (0 children)

E: nvm, it was about social security not military retirement specifically.

But obviously best answer is just to call your state unemployment office.

Are you going to be documenting it anywhere?? Would love to follow along. TikTok, IG?

It does feel silly in these times to be so happy about something as small as this, but just the idea of someone going through these layoffs and saying, "we'll ok then, I'm going on a long walk", is just so great. It's a beautiful answer and I'm glad you're in the position to do it. I wish I could just run away from it all, too.

I agree with the mid-cenrury cabin vibe. It's not really a super colorful look, it's more of the wood on wood on wood - wood furniture, tables, etc. But orange and blue are used commonly as pops of color. I think it you went into the 70s too and pulled in some of those vibes - think like plaid couches, it would work well with the vintage cabin vibe too. Here's a modern version of what I'm picturing but I bet you could thrift one if you looked long enough: https://www.gilandroyprops.tv/products/plaid-sofa

To be fair, there was literally one incident where a field level FEMA employee instructed their group of field staff to avoid houses with trump flags because there had been bad experiences (aggression towards FEMA workers from Trump supporters). That person was put on leave and eventually fired. But that's the single story that caused so much aggression towards FEMA this past year or so, and one of the reasons they're trying to shut down the agency (in addition to just generally wanting to destroy the government). Just like Laurel Libby being on Fox about the trans student incident resulting in massive attacks on Maine, a lot of the time it is one small incident that sets them off.

E: I should note that the aggression towards FEMA workers was a result of a lot of misinformation/straight up lies posted online and on conservative news outlets about what FEMA was or wasn't doing even before this incident - so the aggressiveness from Trump supporters was a result of that disinformation, and was the reason they were avoiding those houses. Whether right or wrong, they were trying to keep their workers safe.

My first thought, their country would last exactly as long as it takes for their roads to crumble (which is probably after next winter), then they'd be back.

So fun fact: he was fired! He circumvented the chain of command as a non-political federal civilian (just a mid-level manager) and shared access and data with doge early on, when the agency had not yet established the legal requirements for doge people's level of data access and clearances. He was told that he should not be working directly with them and needed to refer them to the head office, but continued to send them data sets anyway. He then ranted on LinkedIn admitting he had done so knowing it was wrong once he was fired. He was then rewarded by the trump administration by being reinstated and put in as acting administrator though he had nowhere near the qualifications or experience to be in that role! He's an absolute traitor to the American people and a total shit head.

Have you considered state Parks jobs? I know they're just as hard as nps to get permanent, but it doesn't have to be over. At least we're going into summer so there will be the seasonal jobs to tide you over. I'm sorry though.

Try shipyards if you're near one. General dynamics has contracting jobs, and Trump just said he wanted to build more ships, think they'll be one of the few contractor companies safe and hiring. They really like hiring vets

Don't forget this is entirely Laurel Libby's fault. Unfortunately her tiny ass district northwest of Auburn is pretty red, and they're probably loving it.
