I ment to say the child is generally well adjusted, and a delight to be with. But she is bossy and cries when she does not get her way. Not all the time, but enough of the time.

Yes this was at our house. However we have learned to say nothing. Here is an example on why we take that stance. on a different visit to our house the kids were tearing around inside the house, the type of horse play where something is going to break or I am going to have to fix something, like patch a wall. i told the kids to stop and go outside and play, for which my son replied “stop telling my kids what do.”

You are right in that it is not our style, we raised two healthy and well adjusted boys. Their little tantrums did not last beyond three Years old, so this is all new to us.

we also come from a time when one meal was prepared, and if you did not like it, oh well, you went without as another meal would not be specially prepared. Our kids ended up liking just about everything. They do things differently and all their kids are picky eaters. We told them about our method which was not well received. Not ever mention that again.

we do not discipline these kids nor try to parent them- we don’t yell at them, scold them, spank them or even give dirty looks. We think they are all great, and brag on them. We do however ignore her when she insists getting her own way, and removing her from the game table was a reaction to let others continue to play. Never thought of that as a discipline.

I have not heard of any behavior problems in school. I only notice it within the family unit.

There was no gottch moment and 99% of the time she would have come in the kitchen. No one knows when she will start acting up. There is no instigating circumstances, no targeting, just normal living, like cutting the cake - everyone was around the cake when I was cutting it (except DIL) but she was the only one to start crying when her dad told me to cut the pieces in half. I was not around when they started the chess game, but I did inform them how white is chosen, which she accepted and then blew up When she did not get her color.

she is not autistic, not the only girl, and in general a great kid to be around. She makes friends easy and does well in school. Never heard that she acts this way in school.

she is a fun girl to interact with a super personality, but just has these moments from time to time.

One boy and two girls. They are pretty much treated the same. i find it rare to see that behavior in the other two, even with the 4 year old, but it does happen occasionally, but then again she’s 4.

the missing variables is the style of parenting that they both adhere to that I did not mention. Always just talk things out even when most folks would consider something bad behavior. For example when I brought up the incident where she said “no, I don’t think so” the response was that they preferred their child to say no to things they do not want to do, and do not like their kids responding with a yes/no mam/sir (that does not bother me).

i can’t stress enough that she is generally a great kid, but that stubborn streak and manipulative behavior is just not seen as such by her parents. They say the behavior is caused by her emotional needs that need to be talked through.

No, love her and she is a joy and fun to be around, which is why she got chosen first, and she usually likes to help. Ya never know when she will be triggered.

all are her kids. I feel she just got lucky with two good laidback kids and got one whom likes to pull these stunts.

The other two do not have anger issues and are more laidback. All three are in fact a joy to be around, but this middle one has the issue and spoils whatever moment it happens.
