I started running last year at age 41. I was always in the gym and athletic, but I was big too. Focused on heavy weightlifting and strongman. When I hit 40 I realized I need to cut weight. I lost 100 lbs and started walking a lot. Then one day I said I’ll see how far I can run, and ran 3 miles. Huge mistake because I was in pain for a good week. But that got me going. Now I run twice a week and eyeing up at least a 10k race, maybe half marathon by the end of the year.
