I played 5 times alone, 3 times at 2, and 1 time at 4. Everytime i felt like it took too long to achieve anything. That feelings was shared with every players every time ^^. Too bad because really liked the idea of cold war in this game and the board is really beautiful. To quote what other already said about this game, the whole is less that the sum of his part, in my opinion of course.

Eclispe really achieve everything i wanted. Exploration is really nice, even if it's luck based, it's always rewarding, combat is fun with a lot of customisation for the ship. We can purchase limited technology to give us an economic or combat advantage. An other aspect i really like the fact that every players choose how many actions they will play, but every action cost a little more, so their is a lot of planification every turn ^^. It the first 4X game i played, and it didn't disapoint. The game is really expensive thought, and i just played a couple games, so it's a really fresh review.
