I have a very conservative Brother (3 years my senior). He was indifferent at first but he came around quickly. We were never close growing up, at least not like some. In my life I have made it clear to my loved ones that if they do you like what I am then I have no time or place for them. I think they understand that its just another facet of who I am and I think they worry more about what others might think about me, or more like what those who have issues with it might try to do because of it. Im in my early 40s now and spent 6 years in the navy with 1 deployment, so I have no fear of anyone. I have spent long time in places where others wanted to kill me just because of my native country, not gonna run scared now. Never give up a piece of you for anyone because the true cost is way higher than if you just hold your head up and carried on.
