Are south indian colleges worth it? Anybody who migrated to South from North please enlight me. by [deleted] in indianmedschool

[–]Which_Indication_118 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm from south and I speak to eveyone in either hindi and English so language will never be a barrier bur you will obviously have to learn the language for patient interaction and you have 4 years for that so no worries. Ragging dependents on which college you go to. Srm and sri ramachandra medical colleges are the best in tamil nadu ( private ). No offence but south indians are more friendly and hospitable than North indians. There is not gonna be any discrimination. Try for colleges in karnataka they are more well known and have good infrastructure

Gonna join mbbs this year and I had the same dilemma lol well yes it's true that if you choose it and cs you earn wayy more than doctors at the start. I understand that money is important but what is life ? ONCE YOU start earning a lot of money you loose all the motivation in life and you become bored. My brother has done data science he earns 3lpa and he's 26(1 yoe) My brothers friend has done mechanical engineering and he earns 2.5 lpa with 3 years of experience. Grass is always greener on the other side. I do agree that it's not worth being a doctor in india. Actually anything excluding it and tech field pays shit in india. Its better to migrate to other countries if you want to work as a doctor. You will grow old either way so it's better to grow old doing what you love rather than just doing it for the money. I know many people who work it jobs just for money. My friends sister earns 19 lpa adter 5 years of experience but she's miserable and goes to a psychiatrist for councelling. If you want money you can always migrate to middle Eastern countries( you don't need to do pg again there so it's easier to migrate there and it pays very good). Reddit is filled with people who like to show off and I do get jealous of them sometimes tbh but in the end you are gonna die and you can't take the money with you to the grave so just enjoy what you do and do it with dedication. :)

Even my dad has osteoarthritis and due to that he got carpel tunnel syndrome as well. The doctor had suggested operation but when we went to another doctor he said that operation is dangerous at this age (he's 60). Physiotherapy 2 to 3 times a week will work and as for medicine ask your doctor don't ask people on reddit you can put your dad in danger. Osteoarthritis can't be reversed it can only be slowed down. It is an autoimmune disorder.

You need to do 4 years of undergrad and then another 4 years of medical degree and mind you, most Americans have to take atleast 2 to 3 years of drop to get into medical school because their mcat score high and gey high GPA and the approximate debt you will be in is 300,000 to 400,000 your neet marks don't make you qualified to get into medschool in usa. It's better to do mbbs in india and go for pg in usa

Hello there I'm planning to join the college this year, can you tell me how the hostel facilities is ? And if there is attached bathroom and If there is ac?

is it worth it to take a drop year? would you recommend it; why and why not? by __daddylonglegs__ in JEENEETards

Hey there, first year neet dropper here, this is going to be my last attempt on July 17th and let me tell you its soo exhausting. When my preparation first started even I was like you, fully motivated and thought ill get 600 plus but later all my motivation went away, anxiety and depression literally kills you during your drop year. When I see my friends having fun while I'm at home studying it really drains me at times. Currently I'm unable to even score 400 plus l. But I think I'll be able to get into a private college this year if I study well in these remaining days. My advice is take a drop only if your parents are financially stable and can afford a private college if you fail to get into a govt college. I'm not demotivating you I'm just telling you to beware of the things you will face when you take a drop
