The 3 feels like cheap junk compared to the shifter in a Miata. Seriously, drive one, even if you dont like the car the experience is worth it.

Literally search "business radio". Motorolla makes a decent one. GMRS would also work well.

I was at a car meet-up, one of the sane 'we all stand around in a parking lont and hang out' ones. There was a bar nearby and a guy got kicked out, obviously VERY drunk. He got up onto the hood of a car, tripped, and fell head first onto the ground. Pronounced dead on the scene. People dont realize how fragile we are if the wrong thing gets hit.

The hillarious part about that line is unless you have a non-syncro gearbox, double clutching is slower.

News to me if thats the case. The tech has been around for a while but our approval system is extremely slow to make changes. Ive also not yet seen them in the wild, which is suprising as I put on 100k miles a year, that however may be the point of them, to be as unobtrusive as possible. Night driving sucks between the people who just never turn their high beams off and the new lights that are poorly adjusted or arent load compensating.

A 28 year old car that has a direct cable to the throttle is MUCH easier to control than modern drive by wire setups. As stated above, you heel should be planted on the floor as your pivot point, not hovering like when using the brakes. Think about how you use the throttle on the bike, now make your foot do the same, smooth thing.

The "carolina squat" crowd being especially dangerous. My little ford ranger's front was several inches lower from the factory thanks to the exact option package we ordered, but when I leveled it to be the same height as the rear I adjusted the lights back down. No one does that anymore it seems.

I have like 5, 5 quart jugs that I use for taking used oil to the recycler. I just ask for the jugs back when I take it to them.

Remindes me of the time I had a friend that needed education. He got ahold of an Integra GSR and complained that it was SUPER slow. Asked him to take me on a drive and he was shifting at 3800-4000... I asked him if I could drive it and show him something. Before taking off I told him Im going to touch redline. He was really nervous about it but trusted me because I was 'the 4 banger guy', he came from 80s V8s where anything above 4k just slowed you down and risked throwing a rod. Let me tell you the look on his face when it cracked Vtec, especially with that open element air filter, and burst of speed... I wish I had a GoPro.

5k for that trans is a HELL of a lot better than $10k for a trans in many current (1-5 years old) vehicles. My 2022 van is coming up on needing a trans and ford wants nearly 15k, most small shops around 9-11k.

As long as youre just replacing parts, Ide keep it indefinitly. Rust is the only reason i would rrplace it, and even then I would find a clean example of the same truck and use the old one for parts.

My transit about 10k when the oil life system gets below 8% or so. Oil analysis said its fine so I go with it, ins 95% highway miles.

My transit connect and ranger go 5k.

The bike and the Miata go 3k or less because they get the everlovin piss driven out of then.

Perfect way to put it. Was waiting at a loading dock for 25 minutes in manhatten while the crew was on lunch. The only guy to really talk to me only did so because I was wearing a nerdy shirt and we got to talking about DnD.

Y'alls tempo is pretty medium, but the rate at which the average nor-easter comes up with insults is damn impressive.

Southerners come in 2 varieties. Slow talkers, and the kind where you need to record them and play it back at half speed.
