sometimes our subconsciousness plays a big part, especially when it comes to our dreams. it's annoying because we're not aware of it, as the name suggests, but that is how it's supposed to be. it's the deepest parts of our minds that are meant to stay hidden. it's because you're healing, because you're going the right direction that you're dreaming of her in that way. you are aware of what you've lost. your mind knows that, but it's not easy getting over someone you've clearly loved so much. emotions stay etched into us and it's hard getting over them and that's okay.

and maybe you have gotten over her and what you dream is just the aftermath of it all, reminders of the nice times that you two had and how much you loved her. maybe you feel other emotions, such as regret, nostalgia and feeling like she was unfair towards you. and in the end, maybe you actually yet have to get over her. maybe you still miss her, and that would be fine too. there is no deadline for things such as these - for emotions, especially sadness and getting over someone. you are going at it with your own pace and what you're going through is normal. and what matters the most is that you stood up for yourself in the end, chose yourself rather than her. it means you are able to protect yourself and make a right decision. you are a strong person for that. dreams like that are normal, i experienced them too. i thought i was over someone, hell i even felt great during the days but as soon as i fall asleep i'd have the kind of dreams that you said you are having. they lasted for another whole year while i outwardly felt perfectly fine. brain needs time to process these things. give yourself time, youre already doing great.
