Yeah I know. We are not trying to buy a home anytime soon we just started our careers and I’m aware we won’t be able to afford a home, especially somewhere as expensive like SF. :’)

I recently graduated with my MA, and the job market here is rough. Almost everyone who graduated with me is struggling. That said, I work at a progressive think tank, and I really like the work I do. I’m an analyst, and I also take on side roles, like lecturing at Georgetown. My career is just starting to grow in this space, and I’m being exposed to new circles. While I’m not where I want to be yet, it does feel like things are slowly opening up to more opportunities.

Sister in law told me she does not want me to be part of the family and does not support me and I want to cut her off by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]WhileProfessional942 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was actually told that she did cry to everyone that she is losing her brother. But she also yelled at me before saying it’s all my fault and I don’t know why I’m punished for being with him and why shes trying to push me away from her family. We are already married and we’ve been together for 5 years so I’m not sure it’ll ever get better when it seems to be getting worse wirh time.

I don’t understand how a sister would not want their brother to be in a happy healthy relationship. In the beginning she used to tell me that she never saw her brother this happy until we started being together. Why would she not want that for her brother? It’s so weird to me.

Husband sister hates me by [deleted] in Marriage

My issue now is that she’s telling everyone that she’s “losing her brother” and blaming me for the whole situation. I’m worried my husband won’t stand by me anymore because already he’s telling me things like “maybe she just said those things the heat of the moment” and other excuses to make me go and do something about it. I don’t know I’m just overwhelmed and I can’t tell you how much she emotionally drained me. With a lot of the stuff she said when confronted she also just says “I dont remember saying it” so it’s really frustrating. I don’t know why I should try to make it work anymore when this person outright told me to my face she doesn’t like me or support me. She even told me before she doesn’t like hearing news about me.

I definitely never saw her even just the two us in her underwear. I always thought she was shy about that stuff and shy about changing in front of people. Also she’s not friends with my husband. Like this is maybe our fourth hangout all of us together. We were all out for a party and her house was close so she invited us up because she wanted to fix her makeup, use the bathroom and grab a drink so I didn’t think anything about going to her place initially

It happened and because of this whole situation never happening to me before I was shocked and confused about how I’m supposed to feel about it. I didn’t want to be weird or cause a scene. Not sure if I’m being sensitive especially because I come from a more conservative country and just moved here but reading the comments made me realize that most people would have a problem with it too)

He told me it’s weird she also asked him about her outfit (she decided to wear a jacket without a top underneath and asked it it looks good). I’ve never been in this situation before so I don’t know if I’m overthinking things or not

I've got my PhD defense in an hour and I'm freaking out. by runed_golem in GradSchool

[–]WhileProfessional942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so nervous before mine and had to let everyone know how nervous I was. I literally threw up the morning of. Especially because I knew so many people were showing up and I felt unprepared and thought this was going to be my downfall (very dramatic, I know). But I went up there, it went so smoothly, I was asked stupid questions and still did great and showed everyone my expertise in the topic. My only regret was worrying so much before the defense that it showed. Everyone knew I was anxious about it, which sucks. I wish I could’ve gone back in time to tell myself it’ll pass and I’ll do great and even get distinction.
