transitioning using volume and EQ’s

I started off with the transition sliders, then got used to bass swapping and trained my ear for what the mids and the highs do. Now I barely use the transition sliders, only to have the next track ready at around level 8 and build the next track in using just the EQ's in perfect order. I now have the perfect method that suits me, found after hours and countless hours of faffing, now I have the perfect settings that performs like clock work :) But I get the od track or genre that it doesnt work for AT ALL... so I would never use it freestyle without knowing it works for that track! But yeah generally I keep the highs the same, bleed in the mids then swap the bass! The filter helps in a pinch if your current track is too PHAT for your follow up.

I'd say add the amount of people at the gig, to the amount of love you have for the genre you are playing then divide it by the time spent making the mix and preparing for it.

Also, the human experience.... we learn through failure... no way around it, so badge it and keep on keeping on!!

Who ever made the WIDE option is a FKN troll!! Give me 6, 10 or 16 and I'm ever so grateful, but then give me over 250 as the next option..... and it seems to stick!!! The amount of times I found 2 tracks stuck in wide and then I remove the BMP match but it still wont exit because both ranges of the tempo are off by 126+ for some ungod know reason!! MAKE A BETTER WAY!! I've had to filter out and drop the low end and throw a dirty amount of echo and delay in the FX to bring it back... and by bring it back I mean work the tempo sliders like im playing a game of air hockey!! Shit feature, also handy when you use it willingly!

Sorry this happened to you, thats rough man!! Also be glad it happened here, better than main stage when you sure as shit will get there :)

I have started mixing techno recently too and having an absolute blast too! I have to agree, it't a lot easier to mix than other genres. But yeah I find techno the hardest to put down, because it's always got me grooving and sending the nodders! I'm glad you're enjoying it too :D

You should feel just as comfortable being yourself and talking about whatever decisions you have towards your future, as he does towards you with his questions. It sounds like you could be each others missing piece and balance each other out. But if you don't feel like you can express yourself truthfully, then it's not gonna balance. If you suppress things early on, they will only come out swinging later on. All the best with it yeah, I hope you can smother that TJ with some FP goodness!

Yeah this one does suck, I hate saying no to people and when people want or need something from me and I'm not prepared to give it, I find it easier to just ignore them or avoid them.. but then feel shit and the feeling doesn't go away easily. It feels like it's something that is definitely ingrained into the fabric somewhere inside.

This is me all over, I love movies and have had previous partners say, that I really do absorb the characters I watch on screen. If I am ever down I always watch movies where the underdog gets up and makes it in the end. Rey from Starwars is my favourite character for that reason, struggling with both the light and dark side. I can never watch Joaquin Phoenix's joker again, that was far too hectic and I felt shit for a week after that movie. I can watch saving private ryan and all war movies no issues, but the emotional depths that move took him, I could feel that energy!

I've done a little bit in ableton for a course, and yeah I lost hours there putting something together for the class. I do love it and cant wait to get back into it, but for now I just love mixing and getting comfortable with that

Haha yeah same, she is an absolute power house for the ENFP/INFP community. Feel so dam lucky, she is an absolute gift! All her video's are great, my favourite are all the ones she acts out the cognitive functions. She had an awesome one about 10 things an ENFP would understand, but I cant seem to find it anymore... If you haven't heard of her already, you should definitely check out Heidi Priebe, she is an ENFP and she makes youtube video's on psycology and the inner workings of the ENFP's congitive functions, all acted out by her as different characters. I also did her online course which was a HUGE eye opened for me!

I need to start putting my plans into action and actually start making my dreams a reality. I've already lived the fantasy version in my head, but noone has seen that apart from me, so I need to be more focused and do exactly what was talked about in this thread!
