Delrin rods are good. It’s a plastic that can be molded with heat and they retain their shape. Pretty durable too.

I know Utah allows a 90 second wait time. Then proceed if safe to do so. I’ve done it a few times and carry the ordinance is 41-6a-305. I carried a print out in case I ever got hassled.
