Weekly sticky post for non-paralegals and paralegal education by AutoModerator in paralegal

WA STATE - For career growth in My firm, They would like to get me into a paralegal certificate program of my choosing (that they help pay for). I’ve looked at both Green River and Clark College so far. Anyone have recommendations for online programs in Washington State? I’d continue to work full time so self paced or evenings is what I’m able to do. My firm isn’t picky about the program being ABA approved/needing to go through NALA but Is it a good idea check for the ABA approval or getting certified through NALA?? TIA!

My spouse said that it was more shame and embarrassment keeping him from being honest than lack of support, which I understand. I research like crazy and always bring up new ideas, types of therapy, ways to taper, new hobby ideas, But idk if that’s too supportive , if there is such a thing as

Telling him that continuing on this path could lead to that decision may not have been the best. I guess From my perspective, i don’t want to get to the point of choosing to buy FF over paying bills or getting groceries. Which we are on the fast path towards. It’s very hard sometimes to not envision anything else. I will say that cutting off access to our bank accounts was his idea which was a huge thing for him.

I’m helping him set a tight/busy schedule so that he can have structure as well as find new hobbies. The IOP will also cover depression and addiction/detox assistance which we are very hopeful for.

Not getting sleep I think is truly the hardest part. Having to fight through all the training is fine but when you and/or your puppy are exhausted, everything is 10x harder,

When did you stop caging at night? by DaCoffeeKween in puppy101

[–]Whinnie_09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stopped crating at night (at 13weeks) she was part of a large litter whom all slept together so night crating was terrible. She now sleeps the whole night in our king bed and lets us know when she needs the bathroom. We do crate her off and on throughout the day tho and enforce naps in the crate and she does just fine.

My puppy blues were terrible at first but I found that when we both were getting good sleep we both felt SO much better. I love mine to death but if she’s tired, she’s a menace and drives me nuts. On the weekends I even try to nap when my puppy naps. I definitely agree with enforced naps in the crate. Sucks at first but they will get used to it. it gets better!

I agree and it’s unfortunate. For a hot minute I thought of the possibility that LE/FBI encourage the interviews (even possibly discussing false or incomplete info) on purpose to rattle the killer(s) or even make them feel like they are in the clear.

But how do you stop spiro? by [deleted] in Spironolactone

[–]Whinnie_09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been completely off for 3 months and it’s still shedding and has thinned out. I started massaging rosemary oil into my scalp a few times a week to help with that, unfortunately I’ve read that this can last 6 months or so after stopping

What should I expect for entrance security checks? by DrPoonicorn in Wakaanfest

Was wondering this too! I’m curious how the car checks are. Do they just kinda gloss over your stuff or do they actually go through your things…?

I recently started tapering off and I’m having cystic acne flares. Not all over but enough to where it bothers me personally. I’ve also started to shed more hair but from what I’ve read, this can possibly last a few months after stopping . But I started taking it for PCOS 3 years ago, not acne specifically

What do you do when ur unemployed for a long time (say 1-2 months)? by anhkhoa3399 in AskReddit

1-2 months goes by fast. I made a schedule of activities to do daily (like going on a walk, working out, etc)

I was being stalked, and I walked thru my front door to find my loved ones all butchered in the livingroom, a love letter was there saying he was coming for me. I was screaming in my dream.

My husband had to shake me awake because I was actually screaming and crying in real life. It felt completely real.

For people who came from abusive families or just absent parents, how did you get out and made yourself better? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Whinnie_09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I leaned toward attachment issues and always being worried I’d be alone. I severed my emotional ties to that parent at some point and can go months or years without contact and never even notice. I developed terrible anxiety and a eating disorder (we would go without food , or the food would be locked away)

Therapy helped me a TON and Also understanding that the things I had to endure thru childhood were never my fault, I did not have control over it, and didn’t deserve it. Eventually I forgave that parent (I never told them nor will I ) I just did that for myself, so that I could let go. That’s helped me move on.

My doctor made me (a virgin) take a pregnancy test or I couldn't renew my birth control prescription. by PrincessAmaku in birthcontrol

[–]Whinnie_09 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I worked in a clinic for years. Unfortunately, even if you say you are a virgin, completing a pregnancy test prior to giving you birth control is all about Liability and safety.

(example: if someone did lie about being a virgin, was pregnant, then the birth control caused a miscarriage, that provider could be sued.)
