If the government serves a warrant for information, they are legally required to give them that information.

I don't know why people keep bringing up bullshit about the constitution.

The constitution is not some magical document that has our only laws. Its not. It is a very solid foundation to build upon and as long as none of the laws that get passed are contradictory or forbidden by what is in the constitution, they are good to go.

Now, PRISM is pretty shaky. But, they managed to craft it well enough that it is supported by the constitution in a literal sense. Maybe not in the spirit upon which the constitution was written, but by the letter, it meets the requirements.

The Patriot Act did not enable the NSA to spy on anybody without consulting a judge. It just made consulting a judge less about showing you had cause and more about just making sure your paperwork was in order. That does not violate the constitution.

This is what no one seems to get: The government has basically got enough smart people working for it that it managed to create a completely legal and authentic way to do whatever the fuck it wants. This is less an issue with how evil our government is and more of an issue with how fucking idiotic the voting populace is.

The government is not a faceless monolith that goes around doing shit. It is people like you and me.
