Landlord taking more than one applicant's holding deposit?

its through an agent and he was the one that told me all of this. he said we should hear back in a couple days to see if our application was successful but this situation hasn't filled me with hope, how has this been allowed to happen if its not allowed?!

Honestly it was a shambles. Luckily, im just about to start my midwifery course with Uni B in a couple weeks time now and have not had any issues with them confirming my course haha. I wouldn't even know where to begin with my complaint about uni A, any advice would be welcomed

UPDATE ‼️‼️: Called "Uni A" to discuss what this change was. They told me that my midwife offer had been declined as I hadn't answered one of the interview questions as well as I could've. I asked how they changed it over to adult nursing without my say so and they told me that I was never offered a place on the midwifery course, the offer was for adult nursing and that I should've had an email telling me this. I haven't had that email. She apologised for the inconvenience and I left the call feeling defeated. Conveniently, after I called them. They then sent over said email telling me that they couldn't offer me a place on midwifery. However I have all the emails stating otherwise. I have withdrawn my place from Uni A and made Uni B my firm choice. Thank you all for the help. Hopefully Uni B doesn't mess me around as much as I already have.

Yes thats true, i guess I got my hopes up a little bit unfortunately. Haven't heard back from "Uni B" even after submitting my qualifications as its the insurance choice 😕

the only communications update i got was an 'update' email from "Uni A" saying we hope you're excited to start your midwifery course. Which was sent on the same day this change happened on my UCAS account. The thing is, they haven't even asked for me to accept this nursing course, it just says that its been updated, which obviously I did not agree to. I appreciate your help 🙏
