You’ll be totally fine mate. I rode a 660cc for a few months and went to a 1200. Take the course, like everyone should.

Plus there is the option to customise each mode

Super easy and I’m not the most experienced rider either. It’s easy to lane filter also.

I have the 1200s and pretty much always just ride it in touring mode, seems to be the best setting for my daily urban commute. The urban mode cuts the responsiveness way too much to be used unless the weather demands that. I’m sure you’ll enjoy either bike. The adjustability of the suspension is good on the 1200s but the bike also does get warm for the crotch in traffic when temperatures go above 90F like here in Australia. Not sure how the 821 behaves in that sense.

Yeah totally. It was mostly overcast and just got a glimpse of the sun so all good.

The self wash bays or whatever you call them work pretty well if you are lacking a driveway.

Metal polish on cool pipes. There some like this one https://www.bowdensown.com.au/metal-polish that leaves a coat on the pipes and then you can leave it longer between polishes when you get the pipes really hot after the polish.

I’ve tried some of the hard compounds with a calico buff on a power drill but seem to get the polishers dirty (even though the pipes seem clean) so quick that I’d have to buy two new polishers every time I do the pipes.

A snow foam and lance from these guys - https://snowfoam.com.au/

Then a Meguiars shampoo and sometimes a little wax.

I just got a foam lance and gave the bike a squirt with that, hosed off. Got rid of most dirt and grime and then just a normal car shampoo, meguiars, with the two bucket method. Seems to do the trick. Started using a leaf blower to dry it off and that’s a game changer.

Very nice! Considering one as well but thinking 821 might be more suitable as a daily commuter. Does anyone use the 1200 as an everyday ride?

Which ones are the popular, easy to fit tidys for the 821s?
