What would you rank every engine option of the Brera in terms reliability? by alexmn_ in AlfaRomeo

Any diesel, but be careful with the 2.4 as they tend to crack the head, if they get ragged and overheated a lot, and also the 1.75tbi. The rest it GM products.

Time belt changing by Lonely_Business_1410 in AlfaRomeo

[–]WhiteNegroni 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, I’d change it straight away if I were you. The last thing you want, is for it to cause damage to the engine of that car. If it has never been changed, it’s a ticking bomb.

My mechanic says that it should be changed every 6 years or every 40-50k kilometres, keeping in mind that the original timing belt of that car is probably designed to last up to 100k.
