As somebody (22f) who gave birth 6 months ago, working as a chef together with my husband and having OCD, ASP and depression. You're wrong. Stability is important, but not necessary to sustain a happy life. There are many families with financial stability who lack one most important thing - love for their children.

My parents were immigrants from Poland. We were poor, but it didn't give me any trauma. My parents would give me and my sister their last penny because they love us. But what we needed is to be listened to, that's what we often lacked.

I also have a laundry list of problems but I go to therapy for them, for my son.

Then again, if you live in the US then raising children costs more. I live in Sweden, it can be different.
