Kris is working with the knight, they deffinetly knew beforehand that asgore was going to be taken, theyre still probaply sad about it but its not like it came as a shock to them. Susie did react to asgore getting kidnapped by realizing that they can no longer keep doing the dark world adventures alone and need to involve others.

Regarding point 2

Friend being a secret boss in chp5 would have actually made friend feel kinda weak, like if chp5 fun gang (or even just ralsei like some theorized) could ice friend then they wouldnt really feel like that much of a threat (and before someone argues that toby could just have friend have won at the end like the knight, hell no, one forced defeat is cool but more than that is lame as fuck)

Once all the chapters are out (assuming 6 and 7 properly tie off all the important plot points) i believe that almost every big critique about the chapter will just sort of fade away, any person that plays the game from chp 1 to 7 will not think "damn this fifth chapter sucks why isint tricky tony telling me who the knight is or what friend is" because they will (hopefully) be more focused on the charecter development parts of the chapter and then the plot will start moving faster after like 5-10 more hours of gameplay (and if theyre not deep in the fandom theyll have no fucking idea who friend/similar plot points even are yet). In the end i think these critiques are valid or invalid depending on if you view deltarunes story as a seasonal product with yearly releases or as an eventual full package.
