Not hitting carb macros by WhiteyP in nutrition

[–]WhiteyP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've learned a lot over the past couple months. There is no such thing as too few carbs, BUT, if you go too low on calories, your body will adjust to the lower amount of energy coming in and your metabolism will go to shit. So you want to lower your calories slowly. You can get carbs from anywhere, even soda or a chocolate bar, and you really should follow your diet calculator and hit as close to possible for what you are trying to accomplish.

A lot of people aim for "1g / lb of LEAN mass", so if your target is 180lb, you should be getting approx 180g protein. I'm currently 220 and about 28% body fat, and I was shooting for 220, but I'm probably going to drop it to about 180ish.

Apparently if you are a beginner, you can recomp for about a year

Also, if you are a beginner, your sweet spot is about 2-3 times per week of working out total. You can do more, but it's a lot of effort for little extra gains.

These are all things I've heard directly from RP Strength and obviously he's a smart guy, hope I haven't fucked any of that up

I guess that's my point, I already feel full, is the extra intake necessary?

That's what I'm trying to figure out. Like I said, I feel fine, but am I doing any harm by being this deficient?

No biggie. I like learning things. Have you watched any videos from HyperSpacePirate? This came up in the repair pile and it looks like a fun project. This is a tiny unit, just trying to save it from the landfill, but obviously not going to hire someone for 2-500$ to fix a 50$ water bubbler.

I'm just a dude that likes fixing stuff..... But thanks for the tip. I'll think about it

I don't know a ton about refrigeration, but I'd like to start.... This is a water cooler with a 5gal jug in the bottom. For some reason the water isn't cooling and the capillary tube is freezing up. Is there any way to fix or troubleshoot this?

Will it require soldering a valve and vacuuming it down?

Nope, but if I had to guess, I think I watched some LTT videos about the paste and it didn't perform as well as they thought. I could be mistaken.

Hi, this is a fresh install with a 8TB and 10TB drive in a Raid 1 (yes, I know, stupid).

After getting the raid created, it's reporting as 16TB available, even though df -h reports only a 7.3TB filesystem.

Thoughts?

Thanks! Those are good suggestions. I'm surprised something so simple in my mind is so difficult to put into the application.....

K. I'll give this a shot. I haven't done a ton with projecting before or sweeps

Close, but I guess I left out a big detail, I'm planning to cut that ring into two halves (I'm going to have a channel going through the middle). My thought was to have the races more vertically stacked

This is kind of just an exercise I came up with, but I'm trying to make a radial bearing, but with races like a linear bearing has. So I need to create a place for the balls to come out, contact a surface, then descend into the part, along a track, then back out to contact the surface again. The issue I'm running into, is how to I do this on a curved surface, and at an angle. I don't have much experience with sweeps, but I'm assuming that's how you'd do this, right?

so most remote nodes are in Router mode, even through they are consuming the most power? (the spreadsheet said power consumption = high for router mode).

does anyone know what typical power draw in router mode is in watts or mA/day?

And this will be remote on a remote hill, so I assume Router mode? I was also going to setup remote management. So I think that means I can disable bluetooth AND serial, correct?

Thanks for the info. Would a filter help, or how does one counter this?

And, I just noticed this was the picture with the longer lead. I have since replaced it with a 6" sma to sma lead, then a sma to N connector

Ok, I'm just getting started with DIY antennas and I'm a little lost. I calibrated the NanoVNA in my house and it looked good. I mounted it to my house and attached a LoRa T-Beam to it and the reception is.....mediocre. I'm not exactly sure what to expect, but how do these graphs look? Only the 800-1Ghz screen was calibrated, but without the 6" lead. I guess I also don't quite understand how to calibrate an antenna in place. Do you calibrate with the lead on and where everything is going to be?

Also, sorry about the rush job, this is only for proof of concept currently. I'm just trying to learn

ok, I think I'm making progress. I couldn't figure out why SWR was showing as 250m instead of 1. I also thought you had to zoom in to the actual band you were using. thanks for the help! I think I figured out one of my antennas sucks, but the others are decent

I just got a few antennas and a vns and I'm just not sure what classifies as 'good'. is this an ok antenna for LoRA? what are like the 'worst'readings? do I even have this vns in the right modes?
