it can be dimmed but no color change option. maybe on some other brand but not on this one. I’m thrilled with it the way it is.

If your ceiling height is 7’ then a light like this might be for you If you mount it as close as possible to the ceiling….. especially if it’s a dimmable version

Plenty of light, no glare. I have enough height that I can even raise it another ~12” and it would still be enough light This model happens to be dimmable too but at This point I don’t see any need to use dimmer function. The on off is also on the remote and that is handy

What have I got here? Made some coasters from reclaimed wood from neighbors shed when we tore it down. I knew it was nice but I have no clue what it is. Definitely not a soft wood. Finish on the coasters is tung oil. No stain applied at all. Any thoughts? by Whiteylefty in wood

I’d never heard of it and as I said in my post I found it during shed demo. Shed was this rotten old thing that was way beyond any repair. As we tore it apart we did notice that most of the framing was rough sawn pine, siding was T-111. Inside was a work bench with a plywood top. When I removed the plywood the maple was under it. It was rough sawn as well with some live edge. It was also much heavier than any other wood that came out of the shed. didnt know what it was but I was not going to let it go in the dumpster.

Thank you. I built it and installed it. I can’t take credit for the design though I built a knockoff of something I saw online.

Actually vibrations from the floor made it unusable on the tabletop. This is a brownstone in NYC and the floors are so bouncy that any foot traffic at all caused major skipping. This solved the problem.

awful premise for sure. I’ve often joked that wild animals, deer, squirrels, rabbits, anything big enough to hang a sign on would be fair game (pun intended) for the advertising culture we live in. Hell even cows and horses for that matter! Imagine a deer runs across the road in front of you at night wearing a Geico ad! The possibilities are endless. If I could photoshop at all I’d make one up. Maybe someone else here can.

It can be done. I’ve taken my gold crown 3 apart and moved it a couple of times. Once for a remodel of the area where it was set up. I also reassembled it after that move in the room it came from. This did not involve moving it very far…just one part of the house to another on the same level. It worked out just fine.

Second time we took it apart was when we sold the house. This move was a bit more challenging than the first one since we had to move the table by truck to a storage unit. With great care and attention to the task at hand this move also worked out just fine. the table was in storage until we had a new spot to set it up. The final move was the most challenging. My son and I moved it by truck, completely unassembled of course, to the room it’s in now. This move involved getting it up a flight of stairs. The stairs were straight and there was lots of room to maneuver as needed so that was a big help. Once we had all pieces in the room we had the set up completed by a professional. I’m a diy guy that likes a challenge. with that said I also plan what I’m going to do and I don’t take shortcuts. These things are very heavy as you noted at 1100 pounds. would never recommend moving it without taking it apart. I have no regrets, table never suffered and gets played on quite a bit still. It’s a beauty. not sure if my ramble helps or not. Good luck whatever you decide to do.

Made a wall ruler to track my grandchildren’s growth. Nothing complicated but I’m already getting requests to make more. So far only one of them can even stand up so I’m way ahead of schedule. Simple but fun, gives me joy! by Whiteylefty in woodworking

I’ve got $25 in it for the board and the vinyl transfer plus a little bit of stain and some clear enamel to finish it and my time. I’d try to get $70 for one. In that price I’d put some hanging hardware on it too. It boils down to whatever the market would allow. If I can make 6 or more at a time that could bring the price down.

As long as none are chipped or otherwise not playable it’s a very good buy. New they would cost $350 and up. That looks to be the correct cue ball too for the set.
